The events in "Men at Arms" deal with supposed proof of his lineage and Vetinari has alluded to his awareness of this. Also there is the whole issue of Vimes being made a Duke, which can only be done by a King. Carrot was present at that meeting and he and Vetinari shared significant glances during the proceedings.

Dee turns out to be the dwarf that destroyed the Scone of Stone in the cave. One of the reasons for Dee's participation in the conspiracy is a reaction to Cheery's obvious femininity, which is contrary to dwarf tradition. "Why should they be allowed to do this? I can't! And I work so hard... so hard..."

Andrei is a yennork - a werewolf that stays one shape. Andrei stays in wolf shape all the time. Angua's sister Elsa was also a yennork, but stayed human all the time. Wolfgang killed her, after which Andrei left. He wins championships.
