Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these is a line in the Vogon poem?

Answer: Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes

The full poem :
"Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me,
As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee.
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes,
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon, See if I don't!"
2. Which of these is a real island on Damogran?

Answer: France

France was the island where the Heart Of Gold was built. By another entirely meaningless coincidence, the only spaceport on Damogran was on Easter Island.
3. What was the name of the psychiatrist used by both Zaphod Beeblebrox and Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz?

Answer: Gag Halfrunt

Halfrunt was in fact paying the Vogon to ensure complete destruction of the planet Earth and all its inhabitants so that the Question to Life, the Universe and Everything would not be discovered.
4. In terms of the most intelligent species on Planet Earth, where did humans come in?

Answer: Third

Humans were third, behind mice and dolphins. The dolphins all left the planet prior to its destruction, leaving the message "So long, and thanks for all the fish" - a message which was misunderstood as a surprisingly sophisticated attempt to do a double-backwards-somersault through a hoop whilst whistling the 'Star Spangled Banner.' The mice, on the other hand had ordered the creation of the Planet Earth to discover the Ultimate Question.
5. Who appeared at the Restaurant At The End Of The Universe shortly before the end of everything?

Answer: The Great Prophet Zarquon

Sadly, the Universe ended before he could say anything more interesting than "Er... hello. Er, look, I'm sorry I'm a bit late. I've had the most ghastly time, all sorts of things cropping up at the last moment. Er, how are we for time? Have I just got a min---"
6. What is the population of the Universe?

Answer: Zero

"It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination."
7. Which of these was not an incarnation of Agrajag?

Answer: A Chesterfield sofa

The bowl of petunias was called into existence high above the surface of Magrathea thanks to the Infinite Improbability Drive; the rabbit was killed and skinned by Arthur to make a handy bag, and the man at the cricket match died of a heart attack prompted by the shock of Arthur appearing out of thin air on a Chesterfield sofa at Lords.
8. Where was Stavromula Beta?

Answer: A nightclub

Arthur and Ford crash-landed on Earth. Stavro Mueller Beta was the name of the (second) nightclub owned by Stavro Mueller.
9. How old was Marvin when he died?

Answer: 37 times older than the Universe

Marvin died shortly after seeing God's Message To His Creation, which was "We Apologise For The Inconvenience."
10. Which of these famous singers was mentioned in the series?

Answer: Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley was the main act in the bar reached by riding the Perfectly Normal Beasts past the point where they disappeared from Arthur's world.
