Armand pursued Daniel around the world for four years before he finally renounced his game and admitted to Daniel that he loved him. In Pompeii at the Villa of the Mysteries Armand gave Daniel the first taste of his blood, though he did not make Daniel a vampire until many years later.

Seeking companionship among some "young" blood drinkers he'd spied in Athens, Khayman followed them to a bar on the Vampire Connection, only to see them burnt before his eyes. He even wondered for a moment if he had accidentally destroyed the young ones, but then spotted Akasha nearby.

The sight of her "cured" his centuries of memory loss, as he remembered the deep-seated hatred he felt for The Queen of the Damned. (Hardcover Edition, p. 120)

Maharet's compound was located in Sonoma County, not far from the city of Santa Rosa. Lestat's pre-concert "hideout" was in Carmel Valley. Mt. Carmel was the ancestral home of Mekare and Maharet in Palestine. Tiburon, near San Francisco, has no bearing in the Vampire Chronicles, but was the home of Rowan Mayfair in "The Witching Hour". (Hardcover Edition, pgs. 139-140)

Akasha came from the royal family of Uruk, a city in ancient Mesopotamia, now known as Al Warka, Iraq. Perhaps the most famous example of Uruk in literature is in the ancient epic poem, "Gilgamesh", in which the title character ruled from that city. (Akasha would not have known "Gilgamesh", however, since the poem was not written until circa 2000 BCE!) (Hardcover Edition, p. 286)
