With neither party wanting to leave and relinquish control of the house, it becomes open warfare as each partner resorts to some pretty horrible tricks to try and force the other out of the house.
8. (1975) Danny DeVito and Jack Nicholson star in this wonderfully funny film about a man who thinks he can make his jail sentence easier if he can get himself transferred to an insane asylum. His rebellious attitude towards the strict rules on his ward brightens up the lives of his fellow inmates, but also rattles the chain of the head nurse...and she never loses.
9. (1992) Col. Nathan Jessup, played by Jack Nicholson, gives an order that results in the accidental death of a marine under his command in Cuba. He then alters records to cover his complicity, letting two more of his marines take the blame. J.T. Walsh plays Lt. Col. Mathew Markinson, Jessup's second-in-command, who ends up killing himself because of his unwilling involvement in the incident.

The unorthodox approach that makes him very popular with the troops, keeps him in trouble with the powers that be, who would like him to be a little more G.I. in his broadcasts.
