Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the 1980 movie "9 to 5", the girls worked for a company called Consolidated.

Answer: True

Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and Dolly Patron starred in this box office hit as three ladies who were tired of being run over by their boss. They decided to take matters into their own hands by using extreme measures to put him in his place. This comedy was one of the top ten box office hits of 1980 in the United States.
2. What was the name of the school that Terry Griffith went to as a boy in "Just One of the Guys"?

Answer: Sturgis Wilder

Terry Griffith was portrayed by Joyce Hyser. "Just One of the Guys" was about a girl who wanted so desperately to become a reporter, that she went to the extreme to be noticed. This meant she acted like a boy while attending a rival school. This film also starred Clayton Rohner, Billy Jayne (formerly Jacoby), and Leigh McCloskey and was released in the U.S. in 1985.
3. What was placed in Dr. Hathaway's house in "Real Genius" that destroyed the house once the laser was fired?

Answer: Popcorn

"Real Genius" was about a group of extremely bright teenagers who were taken for granted over a school project and did whatever they could to get back at their teacher. They unknowingly were making a deadly laser for the U.S. government. Stars of this 1984 comedy classic included Val Kilmer, Gabe Jarrett, Michelle Meyrink, and Jonathan Gries.
4. Do you remember what name was given to the serial killer in "Cobra"?

Answer: Night Slasher

In 1986 Sylvester Stallone's "Cobra" was released in the United States. This film centered around a straight laced city cop out to catch a serial killer who had it in for anyone in his way. Brian Thompson starred as the Night Slasher. He was born with the looks to play a bad guy.
5. A big box office flop that I hold true to my heart was "Howard the Duck". Can you remember the name of Beverly's all girl band?

Answer: Cherry Bomb

"Howard the Duck" was a sci-fi comedy about a duck who got transported through outer space and ended up on Earth. Cherry Bomb was the band that Howard ended up managing at the end of the film. Phoebe Cates and Belinda Carlisle were also considered.
6. Which of the following was NOT a contender in the game show in the Arnold Schwarzenegger hit "The Running Man"?

Answer: Venom

The contenders in this futuristic science fiction smash were Dynamo, Fireball, Buzzsaw, Captain Freedom, and Subzero. 7. What color was the Porsche that Arnold Schwarzenegger pushed over in the 1985 action adventure flick "Commando"?

When he did not cooperate, he pushed the car over. "Commando" was the first film that Schwarzenegger starred in that dealt with a military theme. This film also starred Rae Dawn Chong, Alyssa Milano, and Bill Duke.
8. Which comedian portrayed Prince Valium in the Mel Brooks comedy "Spaceballs"?

Answer: JM J Bullock

Prince Valium was the lazy one chosen to marry Princess Vespa in this hilarious 1987 spoof. JM J Bullock was best known for his role as Monroe Ficus in the '80s sitcom "Too Close For Comfort". Answer: Sam Wanamaker and Barbara Barrie

The other three couples that I listed have all acted together in projects and were at one time or are currently married to each other.
10. Which one of the following '80s films did NOT star Curtis Armstrong?

Answer: The Wild Life

"The Wild Life" was a story about a group of teens who learn the freedom of life when they get out and get an apartment of their own. "The Wild Life" was only one of the few '80s teen comedies that Curtis Armstrong did not star in. Curtis began acting in the early 1980s.

Some of his earlier credits also included "Risky Business", "Better Off Dead" and "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise".
