Cherry Bomb band members included Holly Robinson Peete, Dominique Davalos, and Liz Sagal. Lea Thompson was not the only actress interested in the role of Beverly Switzler. Phoebe Cates and Belinda Carlisle were also considered.

"The Wild Life" was a story about a group of teens who learn the freedom of life when they get out and get an apartment of their own. "The Wild Life" was only one of the few '80s teen comedies that Curtis Armstrong did not star in. Curtis began acting in the early 1980s.

Some of his earlier credits also included "Risky Business", "Better Off Dead" and "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise".
