Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The heroine of "27 Dresses" is Jane, a woman who has never said "no" to being in a friend's wedding. In the movie's opening scenes Jane is a bridesmaid in two weddings that are happening at the same time, and keeps going back and forth between the two. How does Jane get from one wedding to another?

Answer: She hires a cab.

Jane (Katherine Heigl) initially offers a cabdriver $300 to bring her back and forth to the two weddings, but says that she'll deduct money if he looks in the rearview mirror while she changes. At the end of the night she gives him $140 dollars and says, "You know what you did."
2. Kevin Doyle writes for the "Commitments" section of the New York Journal but doesn't use his real name so he can avoid crazy brides. What name does Kevin write under?

Answer: Malcolm Doyle

Although Kevin (James Marsden) writes for the Committments section, he would much rather be doing features, something he and his editor constantly argue about. Jane, however, is obsessed with his articles and even saves the ones she likes best. She meets Kevin at a wedding, but because he gives his real name and not his penname she doesn't recognize who he is.
3. When Jane introduces her sister Tess to her boss (and secret crush), George, she never expects them hit it off, let alone get engaged. But Tess isn't all she seems as she tells lies to George to catch his attention. Which is NOT one of the lies that Tess tells.

Answer: She loves children.

When Jane tells Tess (Malin Akerman) that George (Edward Burns) is a vegetarian, animal lover who loves to be outdoors, Tess pretends to be the same in order keep George's interest. However, thanks to Jane, George will discover the truth the night of their rehearsal dinner, in not the nicest of ways.
4. Jane and Casey both work at a company called Urban Everest. Jane is the assistant to the boss, but in what department does Casey work?

Answer: Accounting

We know that Casey works in accounting department because when Casey (Judy Greer) and Jane enter the office, Casey give Jane a hard time because she can't order around the receptionist. Jane then orders Casey to go back to accounting. Jane has worked as the assistant to George for a number of years and often goes above and beyond her job description when it comes to helping George; although Jane says she works so hard because she loves her job, Casey thinks it's because of her love for George.
5. Of Jane's 27 dresses, which of the following does she NOT have?

Answer: An outerspace dress

Jane has a yellow "Gone with the Wind" dress (complete with parasol and bonnet), a black goth dress (complete with spiked collar) and a puffy teal cowgirl dress, complete with boots and hat, but she does not have an outerspace dress.
6. What Elton John song do Kevin and Jane sing in the bar?

Answer: Bennie and the Jets

Although neither really knows the words, and neither is a good singer, Jane and Kevin sing at a bar. "Bennie and the Jets" was one of the songs on Elton John's 1973 album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". It went on to reach number 1 on the Billboard Charts in 1974.

The song is about a fictional rock band and many of the lyrics are often misinterpretted, partuclarly the line "She's got electric boots, a mohair suit."
7. What business does Hal, Jane and Tess' father own?

Answer: Hardware Store

Hal (Brian Kerwin) owns "Hal's Hardware" and apparently lives above it. The girls' mother died when Jane was eight years old, and since then she acted as surrogate mother to Tess. When the girls go visit him he makes them pancakes with fruit smiley faces.
8. As can be predicted, Kevin writes an article about Jane, the perennial bridesmaid, for his commitments column. What is the title of the article?

Answer: Always, Always, Always a Bridesmaid

The title of the article (as seen while Jane and Kevin eat breakfast) is "Always, Always, Always a Bridesmaid", and features photo after photo of Jane in her bridesmaids dresses. Jane is furious at Kevin, who never got around to telling her about the article. Tess is also angry as Kevin paints her as "Bridezilla" and worries what everyone will think of her.
9. Considering that Kevin spends his days writing about weddings, he is incredibly cynical when it comes to marriage, saying that there's only a 50/50 chance it'll work out. While helping Tess register for wedding presents Jane calls him out on his cynicism and Kevin finally reveals his reason. Why does Kevin say he is so cynical?

Answer: His wife left him for another man.

Kevin reveals that he had a big fancy wedding and then his wife left him for his college roommate. Jane feels bad that she forced this revelation out of Kevin and suggests that they go register Tess for really ugly things as a form of therapy. He agrees.
10. In the end Kevin and Jane get married on a beach and she picks very nice dresses for Casey and Tess to wear. What color are they?

Answer: Yellow

Unlike many of Jane's previous bridesmaids dresses, Casey and Tess actually wear pretty nice dresses. They are not Jane's only bridesmaids however, she has 27 other bridesmaids all wearing the dresses that Jane had to wear in their weddings. A very fitting ending.
