Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The beginning of the movie showed the first wedding that young Jane ever went to. At the wedding, she helped out the bride with a problem; what was the problem?

Answer: torn dress

Jane was waiting for her little sister Tess to come out of the bathroom when the bride rushed in crying and swearing because the back of her dress was torn. Jane managed to fix the dress with the ribbon from Tess' hair. That was when Jane decided that she loved helping out at weddings.
2. Fast forwarding to present day, Jane was trying to juggle being at two weddings on the same day. She was a bridesmaid in both weddings, no less. How did Jane shuttle back and forth from the weddings, with one being in Manhattan and the other in Brooklyn?

Answer: taxi

Jane hired a cab and told the driver that he'd get a $300 flat rate for the night, if he promised not to look over his shoulder or in the rearview mirror, because she needed to keep changing dresses in the backseat. It cost him $20 out of the $300 every time he peeked, and Jane ended up giving him $140 at the end of the night.

At the end of the movie, Jane happened to get in a taxi with the same driver and he was disappointed that she only had one dress that evening.
3. What was the name of the newspaper that Kevin worked for?

Answer: The New York Journal

Kevin Doyle, played by James Marsden, wrote the 'Commitments' section of the New York Journal. This section was all about weddings and the stories behind the weddings like how the couple met and weird proposal stories. When he met Jane at one of the weddings he was covering, he became intrigued by the fact that she had been a bridesmaid so many times and was so good at helping to plan weddings. Kevin convinced his editor to let him do a story on Jane, because he wanted a chance get out of writing 'Commitments'.
4. What kind of business did Tess and Jane's father own?

Answer: a hardware store

Jane's sister Tess flew in from Europe, supposedly just for a visit. Their father didn't know she was in town, so the girls surprised him at his store, which was called Hal's Hardware and Tools.
5. Which of these lies did Tess tell George?

Answer: All of these

George was Jane's boss, whom she had a desperate crush on. George and Tess met at a party and hit it off. Their relationship developed really quickly, and they seemed to be perfect together - but Tess told George many lies to get him interested in her.

She pretended to like everything that he did. George thought that Tess was the perfect woman for him, so he proposed and she accepted, leaving poor Jane to plan the wedding of her little sister to the man she was in love with.
6. When Kevin went to Jane's apartment to interview her for his piece (that was supposedly about Tess and George), he discovered her closet full of bridesmaid's outfits. She had several 'theme wedding' dresses among the collection. Which of these was NOT shown to be a theme of a wedding outfit that Jane wore in the past?

Answer: Baseball player

Jane had, of course, 27 dresses in her closet, as well as shoes, handbags and other accessories. The Southern Belle dress was big and poofy, the Cowgirl came complete with a hat, and the underwater outfit involved flippers and a snorkel. Other dresses that were shown were a very tight and short hot pink one that Jane wore to a Las Vegas wedding, a Japanese kimono, and lots involving puffy sleeves, lots of ruffles, and many other ugly things. Kevin took pictures of Jane wearing all her dresses, and used them in his article, which ended up being all about her, as he had originally wanted to do.
7. What did Jane say was her favourite part of weddings?

Answer: seeing the groom's face

Jane said that her favourite part of a wedding was when the music starts, and the bride starts walking down the aisle and everyone turns to look at her. In that moment, Jane likes to look towards the groom, to see how happy he looks watching his bride walk towards him. Later on, Jane asked Kevin if there was any part of a wedding that he enjoyed.

He first tried to say that he liked an open bar, but then answered seriously, and said the exact same thing Jane did: looking at the groom's face.
8. What song did Jane and Kevin drunkenly sing at the bar?

Answer: Bennie and the Jets

While driving upstate to pick out napkins for Tess' wedding, Jane's car hydroplaned off the road and ended up stuck in the mud. They couldn't get a cell phone signal, so they had to walk to the nearest place to call for help. They ended up drinking whiskey in a bar, and when "Bennie and the Jets" came on, they started singing along, and ended up belting it out, dancing on the bar.

After they were done, they kissed. The next day, the story Kevin had written about Jane, entitled "Always, Always, Always a Bridesmaid", was published in the paper and she got really mad at him for not telling her that was what he was writing.
9. Why did Jane get so upset with Tess?

Answer: Tess destroyed their mother's wedding dress

Tess' father had given her the dress her mother wore on their wedding day, causing Jane to be jealous because she had always wanted to get married in that dress. When Jane accompanied Tess to a dress fitting, she was horrified to see that Tess and her seamstress had torn apart the dress and completely changed and altered it.

This led to a big fight between the sisters, and Jane eventually let George know that Tess had been lying to him, and the wedding was called off.
10. Where did Jane and Kevin get married?

Answer: on a beach

After George broke up with Tess, Jane confessed her feelings to him and they kissed. Jane realized she felt nothing, and that George wasn't who she was meant to be with. She tracked down Kevin at another wedding and told him she had fallen in love with him. Fast forwarding to a year later, Jane and Kevin got married, on a beach. All of Jane's 27 friends whom she had been a bridesmaid for were in attendance, and they were each wearing the hideous dress that she had been made to wear previously.
