The Fall, also known as The Great War (not to be confused with The Great World War that took place in the 1910s), was the apocalyptic war between killer cyborgs and humans, resulting in death and destruction over much of the world. The Great War took place in the mid-23rd century, some 300 years prior to the chronology of this film.

Answer: Dr. Dyson Ido

Dr. Dyson Ido is a scientist and Hunter-Warrior responsible for manufacturing cyborgs. Cyborg suits give people greater mobility and greater strength. Ido found Alita unconscious in the scrapyard and carried her to the lab and cyborgized her, reviving her with greater abilities than she ever had. Ido aides Alita so much during the movie that he is like a father to her.

Hugo is Alita's boyfriend who also helps her along the way. Koyomi is Hugo's friend. Master Clive Lee claims to have over 200 kills as a hunter-warrior.

Answer: after the caretaker's daughter who was killed

After awaking her and putting on the cyborg form, caretaker Dr. Dyson Ido named her Alita after his daughter who was killed when Nova's experiment went wrong.

It is true that a dog was shot and killed by Grewishka later in the film, but that wasn't Ido's.

"Ninety-Nine" is her codename given by a group leader on Mars where she originated. "Battle Angel" is the description of Alita's personality and skills. "A Girl from Mars" would be a correct description of her as she's from Mars.

Gelda is a cyborgetic warrior who trained Alita to be a great warrior when they were on Mars. Nova, Zapan, and Grewishka are villains who are trying to defeat Alita. Nova is a scientist who lives in the sky city called Zalem, while Grewishka is Nova's assassin. Zapan is a cyborg hunter-warrior who would kill Alita or Hugo if either one of them breaks the rule.

Answer: Iron City

Iron City is just one of the cities featured in the film. The name reflects that there are a lot of iron structures in the city, such as factory tubes that support the floating city of Zalem above. Iron City is a booming city strewn with advanced technologies and cyborgs in the otherwise post-apocalyptic world.

The Last City is the metropolis in the movie series "Maze Runner". Like Iron City, The Last City is surrounded by a barren landscape. Old Town is a city featured in the Syfy series "Killjoys".

Answer: Motorball

Motorball is played with a metallic ball while racing around the track. They literally fight to retrieve the ball from other racers. The rules do not prevent them from killing each other. During the match, Alita wears a pair of battery-operated skates that enable her to go as fast as a racecar.

Alita must win the motorball tournament to go to Zalem. Alita played the tournament but quit in the middle of the match to save her boyfriend Hugo after hearing that Zapan was threatening to kill him. After Hugo was stabbed, Dr. Chiren put him on a cyborg form including a robotic heart.

Hugo was climbing the metal tube trying to get to Zalem illegally. Nova set off spinning spikes down the tube. Alita managed to leap over it, but Hugo got hit and rolled off to the edge of the tube. Alita stopped him from rolling off by grabbing hold of him by the wrist, but the cyborgetic joint broke off and he fell to his death.
