Glenn Miller is perhaps the best known bandleader from the early 1940s, and was responsible for such hits as "Chattanooga Choo Choo", "Pennsylvania 6-5000" and "In The Mood". After entering the military in 1942, Miller organized a service band, but died in 1944 after the plane he was travelling on disappeared over the English channel. June Allyson and Harry Morgan also starred in this 1953 biopic which featured Louis Armstrong, Frances Langford and Gene Krupa as themselves.
