Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Dr. Evil is a parody of which 007 villian?

Answer: Ernst Stavro Blofeld

Blofeld was Bond's most infamous enemy, with attempts at world domination in multiple Bond films, making him the best villain to spoof.
2. Characters in Bond films often change (i.e. Connery, Moore, Brosnan, all the same character, but look different). Dr. Evil's physical characteristics are based on the actor from which movie?

Answer: You Only Live Twice

Dr. Evil is based on Blofeld, who is in many Bond movies. However, only in "You Only Live Twice" is Blofeld bald, have a scar on his face, and have a big white cat. He is not in "Dr. No", has hair and no scar in "Diamonds are Forever", and is not fully shown in "From Russia with Love".
3. Who is Number Two based on?

Answer: Emilio Largo from "Thunderball"

In the Bond films, the evil organization SPECTRE assigned numbers to its members. Blofeld, in charge, was #1. #2 was Emilio Largo from "Thunderball". In Austin Powers, both Rob Lowe and Robert Wagner always had Largo's signature eye patch.
4. Who is Frau Farbissina based on?

Answer: Rosa Klebb from "From Russia with Love"

Despite Frau and Klebb's obvious physical similiarities, they are both very commanding women.
5. In which Bond film does the villian have a hollowed out volcano base?

Answer: You Only Live Twice

In "You Only Live Twice", Blofeld and SPECTRE operate out of a secret volcano base in Japan, launching shuttles to disrupt US and Soviet space operations in an attempt to ignite the Cold War.
6. Out of the following methods, which is used by both Dr. Evil and a real Bond villain to kill people?

Answer: A rigged chair at the meeting table.

In "AP: International Man of Mystery", Dr. Evil uses a rigged chair, to drop Mustafa in a fire pit. In "Thunderball", Blofeld kills one of his men by electrocuting him in his chair. Dr. Evil has a device that controls the chairs of his subordinates in his lair, just like Blofeld does in Paris.
7. In "Goldfinger", Auric Goldfinger's henchman is Oddjob, a short man who uses his bowler hat to kill people. Who is the Austin Power's parody of Oddjob, who throws his shoe?

Answer: Random Task

Despite their similar names, Oddjob and Random Task are both short Asian men who use pieces of their apparel to kill people. Enough said.
8. The Austin Girl Alotta Fagina is a parody of the Bond Girl Pussy Galore. What film was Pussy Galore in?

Answer: Goldfinger

Pussy Galore's flying circus can be seen in "Goldfinger". She helps Goldfinger with his plans to rob Fort Knox.
9. Which Bond movie featured an "unnecessarily slow moving dipping mechanism" like the one Austin and Ms. Kensington are put on in "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery"?

Answer: Live and Let Die

Bond (Roger Moore) and Solataire (Jane Seymour) are put on this type of device by Kananga's men.
10. In "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me", Austin and Felicity swim to Dr. Evils island. The are wearing bikinis (yes, Austin too) which are replica's of which Bond girl's bikini?

Answer: Honey Ryder from "Dr. No"

Austin and Felicity are wearing Honey's trademark bikini, which is actually featured in two bond films (Bond keeps it as a memento and it is seen again in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service").
11. What Bond henchman could be seen as the inspiration for Mini-Me?

Answer: Nick Nack

Nick Nack is Scaramanga's little henchman in "The Man with the Golden Gun". While he is not a clone of Scaramanga, he is still a little person, and an evil henchman.
12. In "Austin Powers: Goldmember", Nigel Powers is strapped to a table. Which villain used the same device on 007?

Answer: Auric Goldfinger

One of the most famous lines from all Bond films is when Connery is strapped to the table with the laser:
007: "Do you expect me to talk?"
Auric: "No Mr. Bond! I expect you to die!"
(This quote itself is parodied. When Austin is held captive in Dr. Evil's lair he asks, "Do you expect them to pay?" To which Dr. Evil responds, "No, I expect them to die!"
13. In "Austin Powers: Goldmember", the film opens with an Austin Spoof featuring Tom Cruise, Gwenyth Paltrow, Danny DeVito, and others. What is the name of this movie, similar to a Bond one?

Answer: Austinpussy

The spoofs begin to compound here. The parody on Austin doubles as a parody on "Octopussy".
14. In "Austin Powers: Goldmember", Austin's car has some Bond like features, including the ability to turn into a submarine (from "The Spy Who Loved Me"). What other feature did Austin steal from Q Branch?

Answer: A bulletproof shield from "Thunderball"

Austins car also has a bulletproof shield which protects the back windshield from pursuing enemies. If only 007 had had it in "On Your Majesty's Secret Service" then his wife may have lived.
15. In "Thunderball", SPECTRE hijacks a nuclear weapon and holds the world hostage. How is this similar to Austin Powers?

Answer: Same plot is used in "AP: International Man of Mystery"

Dr. Evil demands money (the amount was determined after slight difficulty with help from #2) from nations of the world, as does Blofeld in "Thunderball".
