Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the brand of the possibly infected bottled water leaving the town in the end?

Answer: Down Home

This was in reference to a company who produced the film, Down Home Entertainment. You can see the name of the water on the side of the truck as it is leaving at the end.
2. In the hopital scene, what was the name on the doctor's lab coat?

Answer: Dr. P. Frink

The doctor is played by Producer Sam Froelich, and the name is based on Professor Frink from the "Simpsons" - a favorite of Froelich's and director Eli Roth's.
3. Who was killed by Dr. Mambo?

Answer: Marcy

The original psycho dog was old, tired and only wanted to play, so at the last minute they were forced to get a police attack dog named Rock to play Dr. Mambo. Rock was so vicious that the cast and crew hid behind production trucks while his scenes were being filmed. The camera was controlled by robot.
4. The disease in "Cabin Fever" really exists.

Answer: True

The disease, called Necrotising Fasciitis, feasts on over 1500 people a year in the US alone. Survivors of the flesh-eating disease maintain that the make-up used in the film is 100% accurate. Director Eli Roth was stricken with the disease while working on a farm in Iceland at the age of 19 and came up with the idea for "Cabin Fever".
5. What kind of candy bar did Bert steal from the general store?

Answer: Snickers

His explanation for stealing the candy was that he did it "For the nougat". This took place in the general store where the kids stopped before the went to the cabin (and where they first met Dennis!).
6. What was the Bunny Man holding in the hospital?

Answer: Pancakes

It's hard to notice, but he is standing over Dennis, who is lying in a hospital bed when Paul goes by on the stretcher. This was an homage to "The Shining", where the wife sees the man in a bear suit in the hotel, after Jack has wigged out. Eli Roth could only find a bunny suit so they went with that. The Bunny Man is credited as "We'll never tell".
7. Why did Justin (aka Grim) leave the campfire?

Answer: It was about to rain

Director Eli Roth was forced to play Grim at the last minute, when the first actor didn't work out. He appears under a pseudonym in the credits.
8. Where was the movie filmed?

Answer: North Carolina

"Cabin Fever" was filmed over 24 days in October 2001 at Camp Raven Knob, a Boy Scout camp in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. Producer Sam Froelich is from the area and has a studio there. During filming, Rider Strong went through a stroll in the woods and happened upon a group of teenage girls. Recognizing him from "Boy Meets World", they chased him, screaming through the woods until he finally lost them and hid in his trailer.
9. What did Paul use to kill the man holding the box?

Answer: Screwdriver

This was after Bert shot the hunters toward the end. Some say that the antidote to the disease was in the box, but they never actually tell us in the movie.
10. How many victims were killed in the story of the bowling alley massacre?

Answer: 7

The story of the murders was true. This happened when Eli Roth was a child in his hometown of Newton, Massachusetts, except they were beaten to death with bowling pins, and were not dismembered and bowled down the lane. There was even a Happy Bald Guy (played by his brother Adam in the film) who took Roth's quarters when he was a kid and was one of the victims.
