Question 3 of 10
3. The name is Fletcher. I led a ragtag band of Confederate renegades. We ran across a farmer that had lost his home and family to a Union attack and he joined us and became our most fierce fighter. At the end of the war I led my men into a Union camp to surrender; well, all but one. Good thing for him because it was a trap and my men were gunned down. For the rest of the movie I reluctantly helped Union soldiers track him down. All lot of other men tried to stop him for the bounty on his head, but all we found was a trail of bodies. When I finally caught up to him, the rest of the soldiers dead, I thought I owed it to him to let things be; besides, he was tired of runnin' and killin', never killed anybody that didn't have it comin', and had a new farm he wanted to settle on. We declared the war over and both went our own way. Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I command a squadron of volunteer fighter pilots based in China during WWII. You could say we are mercenaries who are fighting for the Chinese in their battle against the empire of Japan. My name is Jim Gordon.

Answer: Flying Tigers

Jim Gordon was played by John Wayne. The movie depicts the fliers as hired civilians but in reality they were American veterans allowed to resign by FDR in order to fly with the Flying Tigers (Curtis P-40's). The Flying Tigers saw no combat action before Dec. 7th, 1941. Madame Chiang Kai-shek called them "angels".
2. Mi nombre es Javier Rodriguez Rodriguez. I was a policeman in Tijuana and also served with the Mexican state police before getting caught up in a violent web of drug corruption. My involvement began under the influence of Gen. Salazar, Commander of the Mexican Army Federal Drug Force. My story is one of four intertwining tales in this compelling drama.

Answer: Traffic

Benicio del Toro won a well deserved Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the role of Rodriguez. This film also won Oscars for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.
We declared the war over and both went our own way.

Answer: The Outlaw Jose Wales

This is one of Clint Eastwood's better westerns in my opinion. Jose had a heart of gold and was followed by a string of characters that he always felt responsible for protecting. Also starred Chief Dan George and Sondra Locke.
4. Hi, I'm Dr. Mark Powell and I live on a Class BA3 planet. I'm Chief of Psychiatry at my institute and have been given a patient that believes he is from another solar system. I think he is repressing a very traumatic event in his life. But he's very convincing and maybe the reason he's convincing is because he's telling the truth. Sometimes I go out at night and look up at the stars and wonder.

Answer: K-Pax

This movie starred Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey as Prot, the alleged alien and Academy Award nominee Jeff Bridges ("Starman") as Dr. Powell.
5. "Just put your little hand in mine, there ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb. Babe, I got you babe" ... "Just put your little hand in mine, there ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb. Babe, I got you babe" ... "Just put your little hand in mine, there ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb. Babe, I got you babe"...

Answer: Groundhog Day

Bill Murray is excellent as Philadelphia weatherman Phil who finds himself trapped in a time-loop, reliving February 2nd over and over.
6. I work as a railroad baggage clerk and my name is Wilbur. My life was pretty simple and I was in love with the beautiful Sandra until I met some very ghastly characters. Then I realize that Sandra is only interested in picking my brain.

Answer: Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein

Ironically, Bela Lugosi was not Universal's first choice to play Dracula in this 1948 comedy. They originally wanted John Carradine but he was unavailable. Lon Chaney played the Wolfman and Glenn Strange played the monster.
7. "It is I, Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the castle of Camelot. King of the Britons, defeater of the Saxons, sovereign of all England." My Knights of the Round Table and I have been charged by God with a sacred quest, to seek the Holy Grail. In our search we must survive many perilous adventures including crossing the Gorge of Eternal Peril. Wish us luck, my good man.

Answer: Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The special edition DVD of this movie is one of the best I have ever seen. It is full of extras such as "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" in Lego, the screenplay in subtitles, subtitles for people who don't like the film (taken from "Henry IV, Part II"), a follow the killer rabbit feature, and a documentary called "How to Use Your Coconuts".
8. Hey, what's up! I'm Chris, a studly and handsome fireman for the small town of Nelson. I see this really hot chick and want to meet her but I'm not very good at talking to women; in fact, I get physically ill at the prospect of it. C.D. and the girl finally get their feelings for one another out in the open, fall in love, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Answer: Roxanne

This 1987 romantic comedy starred Steve Martin in arguably his finest role and Daryl Hannah. Also in small roles are then unknowns Kevin Nealon and Daman Wayans.
9. I am born in communist-ruled Hungary shortly after WWII. When I am still an infant my parents and 5-year-old sister escape across the border with plans to be reunited with me in Vienna just days later. Answer: An American Rhapsody

This highly-acclaimed 2001 indy film stars Nastassja Kinski, Tony Goldwyn ("Ghost"), and Scarlett Johansson. Based on a true story, the emotionally powerful theme of this fine film is sure to move you.
10. Shopgirl: "My business is in trouble". NY152: "I'm a brilliant businessman. It's what I do best. What's your business?" Shopgirl: "No specifics, remember?" NY152: "Minus specifics, it's hard to help. Except to say, go to the mattresses." Shopgirl: "What?" NY152: "It's from 'The Godfather'. It means you have to go to war." Shopgirl: "What is it with men and 'The Godfather'?" NY152: "'The Godfather' is the I Ching. 'The Godfather' is the sum of all wisdom."

Answer: You've Got Mail

This dialogue sets the premise for the movie as Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) encourages Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) to fight for her business. He doesn't realize that his e-mail pal is also his competitor for whom he shares a mutual dislike. This is, in my opinion, the best of the Hanks/Ryan films.
