Fritz is standing next to the elevator door guarding it. When the ding goes off, indicating that the elevator has arrived, Fritz looks in and gives a stunned look when Tony's corpse is seen on a chair, wearing a Santa hat, with a message over his shirt, written in blood: "Now I have a machine gun, ho-ho-ho."

Holly has been working for the Nakatomi Corporation for six months prior to the start of the film. The building has 35 floors, with the 32nd floor under construction.

Her name is revealed when Holly (her mom) calls home, and Lucy answers the phone saying, "McClane residence, Lucy McClane speaking." She's pretty smart for her age. Lucy is seen again toward the end.

Argyle is first seen at the airport, looking for McClane. He drives him to Nakatomi Plaza so McClane can meet up with Holly. Argyle then pulls into the parking level to wait for McClane. He listens to tunes to help pass the time.

Hans, played by Alan Rickman, is the leader of a group of 12 thieves. They act like terrorists, but their real intentions are to steal $640 million in bearer bonds. Hans is seen wearing a suit, and has a goatee. He is known to try to give some hostages a chance to reveal information or passcodes before killing them, as with the head of the Nakatomi Corporation, Joe Takagi. Colonel Stuart is in the second film, Simon is in the third one, and Salem Abu Aziz is in "True Lies".

Answer: Karl

Karl, played Alexander Godunov, is the main henchman, or the first in command. He and Theo are seen getting out of a car while Hans and the other henchmen wait in a truck. Karl shoots the front desk guard with a silenced pistol. After Theo takes care of the security screens, Karl uses a flash grenade to blind the other guard and kill him.

Answer: Tony

Tony, played by Andreas Wisniewski, is Karl's younger brother, but he has short blonde hair while Karl has long hair. Tony is the first thief to get killed when McClane breaks his neck during a struggle after Tony is sent to the 32nd floor because McClane set off the fire alarm to try to alert the police.

After hearing that Tony is dead, his brother Karl vows for vengeance for much of the movie.

Answer: Sgt. Powell

Sgt. Al Powell gets the call to investigate Nakatomi Plaza after buying Twinkies for his wife. He is fooled by one of the thieves but realizes he has been tricked when the body of Marco, thrown out by McClane, falls onto the windshield of his police car. He says his full name several times through the radio. The first time is when he calls for backup.

Answer: Dwayne T. Robinson

Chief Robinson is an irritable and hot headed police chief. He is first seen getting out of an unmarked police car. He says his full name several times. The first time is when he gets out of his car and walks to Sgt. Powell. He never really seems to listen to Sgt. Powell's information regarding the incident.

He never changes his opinions about McClane, even after Hans falls to his death. It isn't stated if he finally changes his opinions about McClane after Karl gets gunned down Sgt. Powell.

Answer: Uli

Uli is sent to the ground floor with Eddie and he reaches into a shelf display with a glass viewing window. In the next shot with him, he is eating a Nestle Crunch while waiting for the FBI to try to take out the thieves. A Nestle Crunch is a candy bar with rice crispies in it, and the word "crunch" engraved across it.
