Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the group of boys that Peter Pan hangs out with?

Answer: The Lost Boys

The Lost Boys have six members and have Peter as their leader. They are Tootles, Nibs, Slightly, Curly, and the twins Marmaduke and Binky. If you include Peter, then there are actually seven. The Lost Boys are Peter's best and closest friends. They have great imaginations and all seven of them never want to grow up. They are from the movie "Peter Pan".

The Lost Toys are the lost/misfit toys from "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer".
2. In "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" all seven of the seven dwarfs have a beard.

Answer: False

Only six of the seven have beards. Happy, Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Sneezey, and Bashful all have beards. Dopey does not have a beard and he is also the only dwarf that can't talk. The seven dwarfs help find the prince to save Snow White and they end up chasing after the witch/evil queen. They also let Snow White live in their cottage.
3. The Fairy Godmother turns Gus, one of Cinderella's mouse friends, into to what animal?

Answer: a horse

Gus and Jaq are both turned into horses. The Fairy Godmother also turns Bruno into the footman, Major into the coachman, and the pumpkin into the carriage. This happens in "Cinderella" when Cinderella is crying in the garden and the Fairy Godmother appears. Gus is the brown, larger mouse that has a green hat and yellow shirt.

He doesn't talk a lot, and when he does, he usually says "GUS-GUS." Gus pals around with Jaq and it is Jaq that tends to interpret what Gus tries to say.
4. Sleeping Beauty is also known by what other two names?

Answer: Aurora and Rose

Aurora is the name Sleeping Beauty's parents give her. The three good fairies (Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather) call her Rose. Sleeping Beauty first gets the name Aurora when her father, King Stefan, says that he will call her Aurora. When the three good fairies take her to live with them in the woods, they call her Rose.

Ariel is the main character from "The Little Mermaid", Violet is Mr. Incredible's daughter from the movie "The Incredibles", and Atina is Ariel's sister.
5. What is the name of the girl who finds a blue dog...or should I say alien?

Answer: Lilo

The name of this alien is Stitch and Lilo finds him at a shelter. Lilo does not have a mom or dad, but her older sister, Nani, takes care of her. She likes to hula and surf. She keeps bothering her Nani for a pet and she finally gives in. When Lilo goes to the animal shelter, she finds Stitch, and loves him. In the end, she asks the head alien council to keep Stitch on Earth because he is part of the family.

Alice is the main character from Alice and Wonderland. Jasmine is the princess that Aladdin falls in love with in the movie Aladdin.
6. In which of the following movies does the main character not speak at all?

Answer: Dumbo

Dumbo is the only main character that does not say a single word during the entire movie. Ariel from the Little Mermaid speaks until her voice is taken away by Ursula. Aurora speaks until she pricks her finger and falls into the deep sleep. Snow White speaks until she takes a bite of the apple and is in a deep sleep. All three princesses at the end of the movie are back to normal and talking, while Dumbo doesn't say anything. "Dumbo" is about a baby elephant who has huge ears and whose mother is in the circus.

When people are making fun of Dumbo, his mother Jumbo is outraged and wants to protect her baby, but the circus men put her away in a separate cage. Dumbo is separated from Jumbo, but befriends a mouse. Dumbo performs in the circus as a clown.

Then, a group of crows give him a magical feather, and he is able to fly after that.
7. "Cars", "Toy Story" and "Finding Nemo" were made in partnership with what other movie making company?

Answer: Pixar

Pixar was a smaller animation company that Disney used to create the first huge computer animated Disney movie, "Toy Story". After the success of the movie, Disney built a partnership with Pixar. Although, as time went on, there were a few "bumps in the road" and Disney announced its separation from Pixar. Disney and Pixar's CEOs, however, were able to work out the bumps and they remain partners for Disney computer animated films.

Dream Works produced all of the "Shrek" movies. Paramount produced a lot of the Nickelodeon movies like "Rugrats". NBC is a television network that has the peacock symbol and has shows like "Law and Order".
8. Jodi Benson provides the singing voice and speaking voice for Ariel in the movie "The Little Mermaid".

Answer: True

Jodi Benson provides the singing voice and the talking voice for Ariel in both Little Mermaid movies. Jodi has also lent her voice to several other Disney movies. She provided the voice of the Tour Guide Barbie in "Toy Story 2", the voice of Princess Atta in the "A Bug's Life" video game, and the voice of Weeblo (the yellow, small robot) in "Flubber". She also provided the voice for Ariel and Belle on Disney Channel's "House of Mouse" cartoon series and in all of the "Kingdom Hearts" video games.

Ariel is a sixteen-year-old, curious mermaid who loves the human world. Her father, King Triton, forbids her from going to the surface. Ariel disobeys her father and she ends up falling in love with a human prince. She sells her voice to Ursula, the sea witch, and in return gets human legs. Ursula says Prince Eric must kiss her by the third day or she will be a mermaid again and be Ursula's prisoner. In the end, Eric saves the day and King Triton grants Ariel her wish to be a human.
9. Which movie is NOT a fully animated movie?

Answer: Mary Poppins

Although Mary Poppins does have a scene with animation in it, it is a movie with actors and actresses. The other three movies are animated the whole way through. "Mary Poppins" is about Jane and Michael and how their father is never around. Their mother was around, but never spent a lot of time with the kids. So, Mary Poppins interviews for the nanny position and gets it. During her stay, Mary allows the kids to go on adventures into Bert's, the chimney sweep, paintings and in the end brings the family closer together.
10. Which of the following from one of the animated movies is used as a key logo for Disney and all of its theme parks?

Answer: Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell is from "Peter Pan" and communicates through chime-like sounds. She can been seen in the Magic Kingdom parks flying overhead before/during the fireworks display. Her pixie dust and a happy thought enables the Darling children and Peter Pan to fly.

The Fairy Godmother is from "Cinderella" and gives Cinderella a wonderful dress. The Blue Fairy is from "Pinocchio" and turns him into a real boy. The Three Good Fairies are from "Sleeping Beauty" and watch over Aurora until her sixteenth birthday.
