"Real Genius" was released in 1985, and also stars William Atherton and Michelle Meyrink. Val Kilmer and Gabriel Jarret play Chris and Mitch, students at Pacific Tech. Their teacher, Professor Hathaway, is receiving money from the government to create a laser that can vaporize a target from space.

He's not creating it himself, he's getting his students to do it. After they succeed, they realize that it's meant to be a weapon. Chris and Mitch get their friends to help them sabotage the test that the military is conducting on the laser.

Answer: Apollo 13

"Apollo 13" was released in 1995, and stars Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon. It is based on the book "Lost Moon" by Jim Lovell, and details the successful failure of Apollo 13.

Answer: Airport '77

"Airport '77" was released in 1977. Its all-star cast includes Jack Lemmon, Olivia de Havilland, James Stewart and George Kennedy. A 747 is hijacked and ends up underwater in the Bermuda triangle. Rescuers attempt to raise the plane to the surface in one piece.

Answer: The Magnificent Ambersons

"The Magnificent Ambersons" was released in 1942, and stars Anne Baxter and Agnes Moorehead. Cotten and Costello play Eugene and Isabel. As young adults Isabel chooses Wilbur as her husband, and Eugene is heartbroken. Eugene returns years later, as a successful automobile-maker, and a widower. Isabel's husband has died and Eugene attempts to rekindle the flame. Isabel wishes to marry Eugene, but her spoiled son, George, sees Eugene as a rival for his mother's affections. George prevents his mother from finding happiness with Eugene, for his own selfish reasons.

Answer: This Is The Army

"This Is The Army" was released in 1942, and stars George Murphy, Joan Leslie and Ronald Reagan. Reagan plays Johnny Jones, whose father staged an all-soldier show during WWI. Now, he must do the same during WWII. Kate Smith introduces Irving Berlin's song, "God Bless America" in this film.

Answer: The Parent Trap

"The Parent Trap" was released in 1961, and stars Hayley Mills and Maureen O'Hara. Hayley Mills plays both Sharon and Susan, who meet at summer camp, and hate each other because they look alike. They eventually realize that they are twins, whose parents each took one of them when they divorced. Since neither parent ever remarried, their goal becomes reconciling their parents.

Answer: The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming

"The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming" was released in 1966, and stars Eva Marie Saint, Carl Reiner and Jonathan Winters. A Russian submarine runs aground off of New England. A small group of Russian sailors come ashore to try to find a boat to push them off the sandbar that they're on. Some of the townspeople panic, thinking that America is being attacked by Russia.

Answer: America's Sweethearts

"America's Sweethearts" was released in 2001, and stars Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and John Cusack. Catherine Zeta-Jones and John Cusack play Gwen and Eddie, two movie stars who were still married when they made the movie they are trying to promote.

The press is assembled to see the film, which is being held hostage. The PR guy then concocts a story about a reconciliation of the two stars, who hate each other, to distract the press.

Answer: Wayne's World 2

"Wayne's World 2" was released in 1993 and also starred Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. The sequel to "Wayne's World" has Wayne and Garth trying to organize a rock festival, while Wayne tries to keep his girlfriend. Drew Barrymore played Bjergen Kjergen and Christopher Walken played Bobby Cahn.
