Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a planet from the "Star Wars" universe. Hydrogen - Oxygen - Thorium

Answer: Hoth

Hoth was only seen in "The Empire Strikes Back". It was a snow-covered world that the Rebel Alliance had built their base on. The Imperials found it by using Probe Droids, and sent a large portion of the Imperial fleet to Hoth in order to capture or kill as many high-ranking Alliance officers as possible. During the Battle of Hoth, Luke Skywalker led Rogue Squadron in airspeeders against General Veers and his Blizzard Force of AT-ATs (the large four-legged walkers).

Although most important personal escaped Hoth, the Rebels suffered heavy losses, and is considered an Imperial victory.
2. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a character from the "Star Wars" universe. Boron - Oxygen - Barium

Answer: Boba

Boba Fett was the most skilled bounty hunter of his time. He was first seen in "The Empire Strikes Back", and pursued Han Solo to Cloud City, where Han was frozen in carbonite. Boba then took Han to Jabba the Hutt for the bounty on Han's head. In "Return of the Jedi", Boba was at the battle at the Pit of Carkoon, and was accidentally launched into the Sarlacc by Han Solo, though he survived the incident.

Babo was also seen in "Attack of the Clones" and revealed to be the genetic copy of his father, Jango Fett, also an extremely proficient bounty hunter of his time.
3. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a planet from the "Star Wars" universe. Germanium - Oxygen - Nitrogen - Oxygen - Silicon - Sulphur

Answer: Geonosis

Geonosis was a dusty planet seen in "Attack of the Clones" and was host to the opening battle of the Clone Wars, conveniently named the Battle of Geonosis. It was on Geonosis that Obi-Wan tracked Jango Fett, and discovered the droid factories that the Separatists were using to create their army. Obi-Wan, along with Anakin and Padme were captured and sentenced to execution.

When in the execution arena, a Jedi task force arrived to save their Jedi brothers, but even they were not enough to take on the newly unveiled Separatist army. Fortunately, the Grand Army of the Republic also made its debut, and rescued the Jedi.
4. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a character from the "Star Wars" universe. Lanthanum - Neodymium - Oxygen

Answer: Lando

Lando Calrissian was the administrator of Cloud City, seen in "The Empire Strikes Back". He was the original owner of the Millennium Falcon before he lost it to Han Solo in a game of Sabacc. Lando was forced to betray his friends on Cloud City and handed them over to Darth Vader in order to protect his people.

However, Vader continued to alter the arrangements that had been made, and Lando eventually joined the Rebellion. He later led the Rebel starfighters in the Battle of Endor in "Return of the Jedi" and fired the killing shot into the Death Star's main reactor.
5. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a planet from the "Star Wars" universe. Sodium - Boron - Oxygen - Oxygen

Answer: Naboo

Naboo was a lush, green planet seen in "The Phantom Menace" and "Attack of the Clones". It was home to both Palpatine, the Dark Lord of the Sith that became the Emperor of the galaxy for twenty years, and Padme Amidala, the mother of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.

In "The Phantom Menace" Naboo was blockaded and invaded by the Trade Federation, who were under the guidance of Darth Sidious (Palpatine). The Queen (Amidala) escaped the blockade and made her way to Coruscant where she pled her case to the Galactic Senate.

The Senate was slow to act, so the queen returned to Naboo and called upon native Gungans and their army to help remove the Trade Federation for the planet, in a struggle that would later become known as the Battle for Naboo.
6. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a creature from the "Star Wars" universe. Tungsten - Americium - Protactinium

Answer: Wampa

The Wampa was seen in "The Empire Strikes Back". It was a large and hairy creature, native to the planet Hoth. When Luke was out on his tauntaun at the beginning of the movie, he was about to go check out what he thought was a meteor (which was actually the Imperial Probe Droid) when he was mauled by the beast.

The Wampa took Luke back to his lair where he was frozen to the ceiling. Luke had to use The Force to call his lightsaber to him in order to free himself, and also cut off one of the Wampa's arms before escaping the cave into a blizzard. Just when he was unable to go any further, Han Solo found and rescued him.
7. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a character from the "Star Wars" universe. Phosphorus - Aluminum - Protactinium - Titanium - Neon

Answer: Palpatine

Palpatine was born on Naboo, and eventually rose to become its senator in the Galactic Senate. At the end of "The Phantom Menace" he was elected as Supreme Chancellor. It was during his term in office that the Clone Wars broke out. At the end of the Clone Wars, in order to create peace and stability, he reorganized the Republic into the Galactic Empire.

It turned out that Palpatine was actually a Sith Lord, and organized galactic events, such as the invasion of Naboo, and the Clone Wars, so that he could eventually become the ruler of the galaxy. Once he became emperor, the Galactic Civil War broke out between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance, with its final years being chronicled in the prequel trilogy. Emperor Palpatine met his demise at the hands of his dark apprentice, Darth Vader, at the Battle of Endor in "Return of the Jedi".
8. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a planet from the "Star Wars" universe. Uranium - Tantalum - Phosphorus - Gold

Answer: Utapau

Utapau was a world seen in "Revenge of the Sith" as the planet General Grievous fled to after the Battle of Coruscant. It was covered in sinkholes that the indigenous population made their dwellings in, in order to avoid the harsh winds on the surface. On Utapau, Obi-Wan Kenobi fought and defeated Grievous, which should have ended the Clone Wars.

It did, but not in the way he had expected. After Grievous' death, four Jedi Council members went to arrest Chancellor Palpatine, who had been revealed to be the Dark Lord of the Sith.

The Jedi were killed, and Palpatine initiated Order 66, which told the clones of the Grand Army of the Republic to kill their Jedi Generals without hesitation or mercy, which later became known as the Great Jedi Purge. Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of the very few survivors.
9. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the name of a planet from the "Star Wars" universe. Boron - Einsteinium - Phosphorus - Indium

Answer: Bespin

Bespin was a gas giant, seen in "The Empire Strikes Back", comprised mostly of Tibanna gas, which was used to power blasters and lasers. It was the location of Cloud City, a floating city designed to mine/harvest the gas. It was here that Han Solo was encased in carbonite, and that Luke dueled Darth Vader and lost his hand. It was also where Luke learned the truth about his parents.
10. Use the chemical symbols to spell out the full name of a character from the "Star Wars" universe. Lutetium - Potassium - Einsteinium - Potassium - Yttrium - Tungsten - Aluminum - Potassium - Erbium

Answer: Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker was one of the main characters in the prequel trilogy, along with Han Solo and Princess Leia. He was always the idealistic and selfless one compared to his friend, Han. In "A New Hope" Luke was responsible for rescuing princess Leia (who would later be revealed to be his sister) and destroyed the first Death Star.

In "The Empire Strikes Back", Luke led Rogue Squadron during the Battle of Hoth, and then traveled to Dagobah where he started his Jedi studies under Master Yoda. Then, in "Return of the Jedi" he rescued Han Solo, and then helped bring about the redemption of Darth Vader, who then fulfilled the prophecy and brought balance to the Force.

After the events depicted in the films, Luke would focus on rebuilding the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic.
