Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the main method that Azazel (the spirit) used to move around with?

Answer: a touch

Throughout the movie you saw the slightest of touches between people. The spirit moved with these slight touches from person to person. If the spirit left the body and there wasn't another nearby it could move up to 500 cubits or 1/6 mile to find a host body.
2. Hobbes had enlisted the assistance of Gretta Milano (Robert's daughter) with his inquiries into Azazel. What was Gretta's profession?

Answer: theology professor

Gretta was a theology professor and she had been working on this mystery since her father committed suicide 30 years ago. Gretta tried to fill Hobbes in with as much information as she knew. Gretta also warned Hobbes that he didn't know what he was dealing with.
3. Later in the movie there was a scene when Hobbes got home and his brother had a black eye. His brother fibbed to him about how he got the black eye. Art finally told Hobbes that Sam had done it but that it was an accident. The next morning when Hobbes got up he realized that something wasn't right in the apartment. He started wandering around the apartment trying to find what was amiss. What Saturday morning cartoon was on the television during this scene?

Answer: Scooby Doo

The cartoon playing was my favorite Scooby Doo. This was a brief moment in the scene. At this point in the movie Hobbes found his brother Art dead in his bed. Hobbes lied to Sam and told him that his dad was still asleep. This was the day after the black eye incident and Hobbes realized at this point that Azazel had paid his family a visit.
4. What did Hobbes do after his brother's death to keep Sam safe?

Answer: took him to Gretta's house

Hobbes took Sam to Gretta's, knowing he would be safe there. Hobbes told Gretta that the spirit wrote on Sam's chest and he was afraid that Sam was next. Both Sam and Hobbes stayed with Gretta that night. Hobbes had also learned he was a suspect in one of the murders because of misinformation fed to the press.
5. The showdown between Hobbes and Azazel took place where?

Answer: Milano's house in the north country

The showdown took place at Milano's place in the north because it was an isolated area. Both Maguire and Jonesy were present during this showdown. Jonesy was the possessed one and shot Maguire, then went after Hobbes.
6. How did Hobbes try to kill Azazel?

Answer: both

Hobbes lit up a poisoned cigarette and then shot Jonesy. His hope was to force Azazel out of Jonesy's body and into his own body so that the poisoned cigarette would kill him. We learned that this plan didn't work out as well as Hobbes had hoped.
7. During the writing of the script and the making of the movie, the name of Hobbes' boss was changed from Maguire to Stanton.

Answer: true

All of my questions were based on the movie but I did use the script to aid me in the writing of my quiz. On screen, Hobbes' boss was Lt. Stanton, played by Donald Sutherland, but in the script Hobbes' boss' name was Mack Maguire.
8. Which "Soprano" star appeared in the movie?

Answer: James Gandolfini

James Gandolfini played the role of Lou, another cop in Hobbes' precinct. John Heard was a guest star on "The Sopranos". Joe Pantoliano also appeared as a guest on "The Sopranos". Gabriel Casseus played Art, Hobbes' brother.
9. By the end of the movie we learned that it was not Hobbes but Azazel speaking through Hobbes about the time he almost died. He didn't die, though, because he found another body to possess. What was this body that he found so that he could live on?

Answer: domestic cat

At the end we saw a cat wander on screen turn and wink. The cat then sat down and began to lick its paws contentedly. The last words we heard from Azazel were "fooled you" in a playful mocking voice.
10. "Sympathy For The Devil" was the Rolling Stones tune that ended the movie.

Answer: true

It was obvious that the people who created this movie thought that this song was appropriate for the end. This was a great movie so if you haven't seen it yet, do so.
