Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which film was Janssen's character's last name Onatopp?

Answer: Goldeneye

'Onatopp.' 'Onatopp?' 'Onatopp.' Who can forget that scene in the sauna? This was Pierce Brosnan's first (and arguably best) Bond film.
2. In 'City of Industry' (1997), Janssen's character nursed whose character back from the brink of death?

Answer: Harvey Keitel

This movie pretty much stank, but it's interesting because in my memory, all of the scenes with Janssen seem like they're from an entirely different (and much better quality) film. Dominguez played her husband and Hutton was Keitel's brother. Dorff, Hutton, Keitel, and Dominguez went in together for a heist, but Dorff double-crossed them, killing Hutton and Dominguez. Keitel found Janssen and appealed to her for help.
3. In 'The Adventures of Sebastian Cole' (1998), Sebastian frequently rides his bike through the hallways of his school, evading the school's authorities. How does he finally get stopped?

Answer: The janitor spills soapy mop water on the floor and Sebastian's bike slips.

This movie was pretty funny, but not as good as I had hoped it would be. I was also pretty disappointed by Adrian Grenier's judgment in going from this starring role to a role as Melissa Joan Hart's love interest in the teen flick 'Drive Me Crazy'. Oh, well. Janssen's role in this film was very small, but by some standards it's better to have a small role in a good film than a large role in a bad one.
4. 'Rounders' (1998) starred Matt Damon and Edward Norton as gamblers. Janssen was in this film, playing a Russian card-den cocktail waitress (or something like that). She also seemed to have some sort of romantic history with Damon's character. Who played Damon's current love interest in the movie?

Answer: Gretchen Mol

People had high hopes for Mol, and she wasn't bad in this movie, but after it her film career just sort of dwindled and she mostly did small roles in mediocre pictures.
5. What was the profession of Janssen's character in 'Made' (2001)?

Answer: stripper

She played a mother and stripper involved with Jon Favreau's character. Favreau and Vince Vaughn played construction workers who got roped into doing a job for a mafia type who happened to manage Janssen's assignments. This was supposed to be the follow up to 'Swingers' but it was nowhere near as good.
6. In which movie does Janssen's character tell another character that he'll be sucking her toes until graduation?

Answer: The Faculty

This was the second part of one of those 'I'm gonna shove my foot so far up your behind' -type statements, directed at Josh Hartnett's character.
7. An early scene of 'House on Haunted Hill' (1999) takes place where?

Answer: on a ride at an amusement park

If I remember correctly, the ride is one where you get in an elevator that is supposedly taking you to the start of the ride, but it is in fact designed as the ride itself, simulating a drop and other disastrous things that can take place in elevators. Janssen played Evelyn, the wife of the millionaire hosting the party.
8. Which of the following keeps Janssen's character mostly bedridden in 'Don't Say A Word' (2001)?

Answer: broken leg

I think it was from a skiing accident. She was stunning in this film, even if she did spend most of her scenes confined to a bed (then again, that's not such a bad way to spend your days on a set).
9. 'Celebrity' (1998) was written and directed by which of the following?

Answer: Woody Allen

This comedy about fame starred Leonardo DiCaprio and a number of others.
10. Where does the climactic scene take place in 'X-Men' (2000)?

Answer: Statue of Liberty in New York City

Janssen played Jean Grey in this film, and will continue her role in the franchise's other films. Not a bad part, actually. She gets to play a mature, self-possessed, intelligent woman. How many of those do you find in sci-fi action flicks?
