Answer: That Darn Cat

It all began when D.C. (Darn Cat) showed up wearing a wristwatch for a collar which turned out to be a clue in a kidnapping. This very funny 1965 Disney comedy starred Hayley Mills as spunky Patti Randall. Dean Jones played Zeke Kelso, an FBI Agent who was allergic to cats.

The supporting cast included some fine character actors including Elsa Lanchester, Ed Wynn, Dorothy Provine, and Roddy MacDowall. D.C. (Darn Cat) was a Disney veteran, appearing as Taps in "The Incredible Journey". Disney remade "That Darn Cat" in 1997.

This time Christina Ricci starred as Patti and Doug E. Doug played Agent Kelso. Dean Jones also played a supporting role as Mr. Flint.

The Garrison household was literally turned upside down by four mischievous dachshunds and a Great Dane who thought it was their brother in Disney's 1966 comedy "The Ugly Dachshund". Dean Jones played Mark Garrison and Suzanne Pleshette co-starred as Fran Garrison. Charlie Ruggles was family vet Dr. Pruitt.

In Disney's 1967 comedy "Monkeys, Go Home!", Dean Jones played Henry "Hank" Dussard, a young American who inherited a rundown olive farm in the south of France. When none of the villagers would help him, Hank brought in a team of former Air Force space monkeys to pick olives. Maurice Chevalier co-starred as the local priest and Yvette Mimieux played the lovely village girl Maria.

Blackbeard's shade was cursed to walk forever in limbo and Coach Steve Walker was cursed to be haunted by him until the rascally pirate could do one good deed. Suzanne Pleshette starred as Prof. Jo Anne Baker. Jody Baker played small time gangster Silky Seymour who planned on pitching Blackbeard's descendants out and putting a big, modern casino where their inn stood.

Suzanne Pleshette starred as Fran Garrison in "The Ugly Dachshund" (1966). In Disney's 1968 comedy "Blackbeard's Ghost" she played Professor Jo Anne Baker. She was again teamed with Dean Jones in the 1976 comedy "The Shaggy D.A.". In the 1972 Disney comedy "Snow Ball Express", Dean Jones starred as Johnny Baxter and Nancy Olson starred as Sue Baxter. Johnny Baxter inherited a ski resort in the Rocky Mountains, quit his job in New York City, and found out that running it was not as easy as he thought.

The cast also included Geroge Lindsey and Keenan Wynn.

The popular Herbie franchise has been very lucrative for Disney and Dean Jones has been along for much of the ride. While Jones did not appear in "Herbie Rides Again" (1974) or "Herbie Goes Bananas" (1980), he was in the driver's seat in "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo" (1977). Jones also starred as Jim Douglas in the 1982 Disney television series "Herbie The Love Bug" and the 1997 Disney made-for-television movie "The Love Bug".

Herbie was back on the track with Lindsay Lohan and Michael Keaton in the 2005 Disney comedy "Herbie: Fully Loaded".

This time Herbie took racing international and got involved with jewel thieves on the way from Paris to Monte Carlo. Dean Jones again starred as Jim Douglas. Don Knotts played his sidekick Wheely Applegate and Julie Sommars co-starred as Diane Darcy.

Disney's "The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit" was based on the novel "The Year of the Horse" by Eric Hatch. Dean Jones starred as Fred Bolton and Diane Baker played Suzie "S.J." Clemens. The cast also included Kurt Russell as Ronnie Garnder and Ellen Janov as Helen Bolton.

The only way that Fred Bolton, who was doing an ad campaign for a stomach pill called Aspercel, could afford a horse for his daughter was to talk the company into buying a horse, naming it Aspercel, and letting his daughters ride it at shows for the publicity.

Disney's 1959 comedy "The Shaggy Dog" starred one of Disney's hottest young stars, Tommy Kirk, as Wilby Daniels, a teenager who was accidentally transformed into a sheepdog by a magic ring. This was Disney's first film teaming of Kirk with Annette Funicello, with whom Kirk was paired in "The Misadventures of Merlin Jones" (1964) and "The Monkey's Uncle" (1965). Disney's 1976 sequel starred Dean Jones as a now grown-up Wilby Daniels whose campaign for District Attorney is complicated because he once again transformed into a sheepdog. Suzanne Pleshette once again co-starred as Dean Jones' love interest, Betty Daniels.

"The Million Dollar Duck" (also listed as "The $1,000,000,000 Duck") was Disney's take on the old "goose that laid the golden egg" story. Dean Jones starred as Prof. Albert Dooley, Sandy Duncan played Katie Dooley, and Disney veteran Joe Flynn played Finley Hooper.
