This film is an intense drama that depicts the dysfunctional family of the English King Henry II. His estranged wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine, whom Henry had imprisoned, is released to spend the Christmas holidays with King Henry and their three sons, Richard (the Lion-Hearted), John, and Geoffrey.
