Maxwell Smart was the lead character in both the movie and television versions of "Get Smart". In the television series, the role was famously played by Don Adams, who also provided the voice of animated spy Inspector Gadget during the 1980s. In the film, Max was a highly intelligent analyst with the fictional American spy agency CONTROL.

However, despite passing the exam required to become a field agent, the Chief (Alan Arkin) felt Max would serve CONTROL better as an analyst. While Max was very skilled at information gathering, he was a clumsy buffoon when it came to spy tactics.

However, the Chief was forced to promote him to a field agent after CONTROL headquarters was attacked by the terrorist organization, KAOS. The Chief declared Max to be Agent 86, which was also his number in the television series.

In the television series, Agent 99 was Maxwell Smart's main partner. The original character was portrayed by Barbara Feldon. In the movie, Agent 99 was an experienced field agent who was forced to partner up with Maxwell Smart after CONTROL headquarters was attacked by KAOS.

In the beginning, 99 was reluctant to have Max be her partner, but slowly warmed up to him as they progressed in their mission. She and Max become romantically involved by the end of the movie. Anne Hathaway later won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the movie adaptation of "Les Misérables", which was released in 2012.

Agent 23, a character exclusive to the movie, was played by former WWE wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Agent 23 got annoyed after Larabee egged him on about jamming CONTROL's copy machine, which resulted Agent 23 stapling a piece of paper to Larabee's forehead. Agent 23 was a highly experienced and egotistical CONTROL field agent. Later in the film, it was revealed that Agent 23 had secretly been working with the KAOS organization. Agent 23, who arrived in Russia to "clean up" after Max and 99's mission, had framed Max for being a double agent, which resulted in Max being placed in jail.

However, Max managed to escape and was able to foil the plans of Agent 23 and KAOS by the end of the film.

Answer: Siegfried

Siegfried was the primary antagonist in the movie version of "Get Smart". He was the leader of the terrorist organization KAOS which was based out of Russia. Siegfried was played by British actor Terence Stamp. His sidekick was a man named Shtarker, who was played by Ken Davitian in the film.

In the original television series the role of Siegfried was played by Bernie Kopell, who made a brief cameo appearance in the movie as a Russian citizen. Shtarker was also a character from the original television series and was played by actor King Moody.

Dalip was portrayed by Dalip Singh Rana, a seven-foot tall Indian professional wrestler more commonly known by his WWE ring name "The Great Khali". Dalip had followed Max and 99 onto their flight at the start of their mission to Russia. He chased after them when they ejected out of the airplane's lavatory while in flight. Later, Max discovered that the giant henchman was having marriage issues and that his wife's sister was "undermining their relationship".

This drove the big man to tears and he allowed Max and 99 to escape after hugging Max.

He would eventually turn against Siegfried after he made a snarky comment about Dalip's wife at the end of the film.

Answer: a tree

Agent 13 was a CONTROL field agent who was stationed inside of a tree in Washington, D.C. The tree guarded a secret entrance to CONTROL headquarters which was located inside the Reflecting Pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Agent 13 was lonely and was looking forward to chatting with Max.

He started crying when Max told him he was too busy to talk to him. In the original television series, Agent 13 was portrayed by Dave Ketchum and the character would hide inside various objects including fire hydrants and trash cans.

Answer: Vice President

Siegfried's master plan was to distribute nuclear weapons to nations that were enemies of the United States. He then threatened to release their activation codes if the American government did not pay his $200 billion ransom demand. When the Chief attempted to bring this information before the American security council, the Vice President (played by Geoff Pierson) did not believe that the threat was credible which led to a heated argument between him and the Chief.

The argument escalated into a brawl between the two of them. During the brawl the Vice President told the Chief, "I just got a new pacemaker! I can go all day!"

Answer: Bakery

The first part of Max and 99's mission brought them to the home of Ladislas Krstic (David S. Lee) who was KAOS' chief bomb maker. There they discover that KAOS had been building nuclear weapons at a secret factory in Moscow, Russia, which used a bakery to hide the factory's true objective. Max and 99 were successful in destroying the factory, but evidence of the nuclear activity at the facility ended up getting covered up by Agent 23.

Answer: Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

In order to prove to the American government that KAOS' threats were genuine, Siegfried planted a nuclear bomb at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California, which was holding a special concert in honor of the President of the United States (James Caan). Max was tipped off on KAOS' plan while he was being held in jail after being framed by Agent 23.

He successfully broke out and managed to fly over to Los Angeles in time to warn the Chief. The concert scene in "Get Smart" was filmed at the real Walt Disney Concert Hall which was completed in 2003.

Answer: Ode to Joy

Siegfried had rigged the bomb to explode once the orchestra played the final note of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy", which was Siegfried's favorite song. The bomb was being controlled from a briefcase which ended up getting destroyed after Agent 23 crashed into a train. Max managed to arrive at the concert hall just in time to tackle the elderly conductor before the orchestra could complete the song. With a lucky guess from Max, the bomb was found planted underneath the orchestra's piano.
