"Ghost Ship" (2002) Trivia Quiz

Answer: Murphy drowned in the fish tank on the ship.

After the death of Santos, Murphy was extremely distraught. Murphy felt responsible for Santos's death because he was his Captain. Murphy returned to the Captain's cabin to have a drink. The ghost of the dead Captain slid the bottle over to Murphy. Murphy left the cabin and saw the ghost of Santos. Santos blamed Murphy for his death which was not his fault at all. Murphy was found by Epps in the room where the aquarium was. Murphy attacked Epps, mistaking him for Santos. Ferriman came up from behind and knocked Murphy out.

They placed Murphy in the empty aquarium so he would sober up. When Epps returned sometime later Murphy had drowned in the now full aquarium.

Answer: Bering Sea

The Graza was discovered by Jack Ferriman while doing a fly over the Bering Sea. Ferriman approached the crew of the Arctic Warrior with this discovery. The crew was reluctant to get involved at first as they had just come off a long haul pulling in another boat. Greer was to be married in a short time and didn't really want to go out to sea so close to the time of his wedding. Murphy told all the members of his crew that he would do a six way split with them.

The crew then all decided to go out and retrieve the boat.

Answer: Mechanic

Santos was the Arctic Warrior's mechanic. In a scene in the movie, we saw him overhaul the engine. He started to talk nasty to the engine and it shot oil at him. Santos was killed when the Antonio Graza turned on a propane tank. When Greer turned on the engine of the Warrior it caused the ship to explode. Munder and Greer survived the explosion, but Santos didn't.

Alexander Dimitriades played the role of Santos. Santos was the first to discover the Antonio Graza on the Arctic Warrior's radar. While driving the boat he saw a blip on the screen, but it disappeared quickly. He called Murphy and told him to come and look at the screen. Santos ran the Arctic Warrior into the Graza, but no damage was done.

Answer: New York

Katie told Epps that she was on her way to meet her parents when she was killed. We found this out when Epps was going through Katie's cabin. Epps found a locket that was hanging around the neck of Katie's body. Epps opened the locket and saw Katie's parents. Katie was then sitting behind Epps. She asked her not to close the locket because she had not seen her parents in a long time. Epps tried to hand the locket back to Katie, but it went right through her hand. Epps then realized Katie was truly a ghost.

Emily Browning played the role of Katie Harwood. She has also appeared in "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events", in which she played Violet Baudelaire. Maureen Epps was played by Julianna Margulies, of the television show "E.R.".

Answer: Munder

The foursome had just arrived on the Antonia Graza. Murphy warned them to be careful, as rust could be an issue. Murphy opened the door and said, "Ladies first". Epps declined and Munder went through instead. They walked for a few moments and Munder fell through the floor. He was holding on for dear life and Epps tried to help him up. Epps looked down and saw Katie standing there. They managed to get Munder up and Murphy scolded him for not paying attention. Munder told Dodge that he thought he soiled his pants. Dodge told him that he always smelled that way.

Karl Urban played the role of Munder. Munder was killed when he dove down into the hull of the Antonio Graza to unclog a hose. Munder got pulled into some metal gears and was killed. Karl appeared in the second and third installments of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy as Eomer.

Answer: bath tub

The guys were in the galley of the ship. They had found several unopened cans of food. Dodge and Munder played the game "Rock, Scissors, Paper" to see who had to try the food. Munder lost and ate the food. He told Dodge it was really good and they both dug in. The men were eating and talking, and Dodge told Munder that he was going to buy him a bath tub with his share of the gold. Munder told Dodge that he was going to buy him a lifetime subscription of adult magazines and toilet paper. Munder noticed something moving on Dodge's mouth. The men looked down and discovered they were eating maggots.

Ron Eldard played the role of Dodge. His character was in love with Epps, but never let her know. We never saw how Dodge was killed, but we know he was because Ferriman assumed his form. Ferriman tried to convince Epps to repair the ship, but Epps already knew his secret.

Answer: Senza Fine

Francesca was singing to all the passengers on the crew. It was a signal from her that started the massacre aboard the Antonia Graza. Several years later, Francesca's ghost caused the death of Greer. Francesca had been messing with Greer's head since he got on the Antonia Graza. In Greer's death scene, we saw the dinning room put itself back together. This included a fallen chandelier that reattached itself to the ceiling. As this was happening, we saw Francesca and the other dead passengers applauding Greer. Francesca lured Greer into a open shaft by taking off her clothes. When he went to grab her, he fell through her and died. Epps discovered Greer's dead body with the help of Katie.

Gino Paoli was the author of all of these Italian pop classics. I learned this through Wikipedia. Francesca Rettondini was the actress who portrayed Francesca; she is an Italian actress. This was the first and only movie, I have ever seen her in. She had a very good voice and was extremely beautiful, too.

Answer: Captain's Cabin

When Murphy was in the Captain's cabin, he learned that the crew of the Antonia Graza had pulled one survivor from the Lorelei. The sole survivor was Ferriman. In the three days he was on the ship, he managed to concoct a plan to murder all aboard. We learned that Jack was the man behind the plan when Katie showed Epps the flashback.

Desmond Harrington played the role of Jack Ferriman. Epps asked Ferriman who he was and he told her he salvaged souls to be sent onwards. I can only guess he meant hell. He told her when he filled his quota of souls he sent the ship on. He was given this his job after a lifetime of sin.

Answer: Everlast

When Greer was approaching Francesca, he took off his jacket and revealed the orange Everlast shirt. I found this kind of funny. I don't know if it was meant to be a joke about his stamina or not. It seemed to me like it was intended that way.

Isaiah Washington played the role of the first mate of the Arctic Warrior. Isaiah Washington was also a member of the television show "Grey's Anatomy". He was let go from the show after he made some remarks about a fellow actor's sexuality.

Answer: Steve Beck

Steve also directed the 2001 version of "Thirteen Ghosts". Mark Hanlon and John Pogue were the writers on the film. Karl Urban starred as Munder, one of the crew of the Arctic Warrior. "Ghost Ship" was released in 2002. It was made by Dark Castle Entertainment. Dark Castle's first film was a remake of "House on Haunted Hill" and they have since done "Orphan" in 2009 plus other movies in between. Robert Lee Zemeckis was a founding member of Dark Castle Entertainment along with Joel Silver and Gilbert Adler.
