On September 18, 2017, Tree (Theresa) wakes up in a dorm room to find a guy - Carter - who she stayed with the previous night. She leaves shortly after, after taking a Tylenol, running into an ex-boyfriend on the way back to her sorority house. Her roommate, Lori, tells her of all the crazy things she ended up doing the night before while, at the same time, wishing her a happy birthday. Tree isn't thrilled. Late for class, she throws out Lori's birthday cupcake and shows up late for her lecture.

After a sorority meeting, she ends up meeting with her professor for a quick lunchtime affair.

In the evening, Tree heads off to a post-game party on campus. Walking alone, she comes across a pedestrian tunnel that seems to be blocked off by caution signage. Her doctor ends up being Dr. Butler, who she's been having the affair with, and he tells her that she should be dead, especially considering the x-rays of past injuries she's sustained. She heads to the hospital to make people aware of Tombs' likely escape, but he escapes anyways, killing Carter when he comes to help. A quick fight in a bell tower near the hospital results in Tree subduing the killer, but she realizes that Carter will be gone forever if she ends the day with a win. So instead, she races to the top of the tower and hangs herself at the top.
