Frank intentionally does so having prepared a ritual site for the outcome. What happened next was his horrifically gory demise. The box is known as The Lament Configuration, though even those most interested in it refer to it as simply "the box" probably for simplicity sake.

Answer: The Cenobites

They are first identified as such by Frank Cotton as he says, "The Cenobites gave me pain and pleasure indivisible." The Cenobites describe themselves as "explorers of the further region of experience". To sum it up, they're devoted toward analyzing human sensations- and definitely not the more pleasant ones at that.

Answer: Kirsty

Kirsty unknowingly opens the box as she sits in a hospital bed. What happens next is that she gets a visit paid to her by a horrific monster who forms and opens a gap in a wall only she can see. After narrowly escaping its jaws, she then interacts with the box more back at her home, only to then be greeted by the Cenobites.

Answer: Pinhead

Pinhead is very simply a Cenobite who has had a lot of nails planted into his face. Chatterer functions as the 'right hand man' of sorts, and he gets his name from having had his lips torn off, permanently exposing his teeth which endlessly chatter. Butterball is the chubby Cenobite wearing sunglasses, who never actually has any dialog lines. Finally, the Engineer is the name of the giant monster with enormous fangs who pursues Kirsty in the wall of the hospital.

There is also a female Cenobite, though her name is never revealed during the movie.

Answer: Close the box

Simply un-solving the simplistic puzzle within the box will reverse the effects that solving it caused. It will basically banish the Cenobites in the process. This is how Kirsty ends up "defeating" the Cenobites in the end- she un-solves the box much to Pinhead's dismay and then uses it to essentially remove the Cenobites one by one.

Answer: Bring him living people to consume

While the specifics are never truly elaborated on, Frank is able to slowly restore the flesh on his body by stabbing or basically attacking his victims, which seems to rot the flesh on their own skin and basically transfer it to himself. We do get a glimpse of the effects it has upon the victim; as he kills Julia, her skin begins to crinkle considerably for the few seconds the interaction is on camera for.

Answer: Lead them to Frank

Frank Cotton managed to escape the Cenobites much to their dismay. Claiming to know where he is, Kirsty tells the Cenobites she will lead them to him in exchange for letting her go. Pinhead accepts, declaring that he wants to hear Frank confess to having escaped the Cenobites as a condition.

Answer: Larry is actually Frank in disguise

To sum it up, Frank and Julia ended up killing Larry. Frank somehow managed to regrow his own flesh and skin, and did it in a way where he looked exactly like Larry. Kirsty discovers this right before the Cenobites show up in the house's attic to find what looked like the charred and mangled body of Frank himself. Kirsty is then able to trick Frank into venturing into the attic, where he is face to face with his old foes, who promptly eliminate him.

Larry ends up being killed by Frank and Julia. Frank ultimately betrays Julia, stabbing her and stealing her flesh for himself to use. Kirsty does manage to trick and trap Frank however, bringing him to the Cenobites where they'd proceed to viciously rip him apart and kill him one again. Kirsty manages to escape the Cenobites by un-solving the box and basically banishing them.

Answer: Doug Bradley

Doug Bradley is simply amazing here, delivering bone-chilling lines with authority. The classic "The box, you opened it, we came!" to "Oh no tears please. It is a waste of good suffering" all the way down to the simple but intimidating "We want the man who did this" or "We have such sights to show you" were just amazing. It is a shame he didn't get just a bit more screen time.
