There really is no reason for it, and really no explanation at the end as to why this happens. It just is what it is... a suspenseful slasher flick for fans of the genre.

'Home Sweet Home' is a 1981 slasher film that takes place on Thanksgiving Day... which kind of makes it somewhat unique. Jake Steinfeld plays the role of an escaped mental patient named Jay Jones. While making his way to the ranch of Harold Bradley in order to ruin the family gathering for Thanksgiving by murdering them, he runs over a little old lady with a station wagon he steals from one of his victims.

Melissa Sue Anderson plays the role of Virginia, who happens to have a birthday coming up. Unfortunately, none of her friends get to make it to her party... alive! This film is not only famous for all the unusual death scenes, but also for the surprise twist of an ending!

Not long after, a masked killer begins stalking and murdering the other runners on the team one by one! She and her new boyfriend named Roy wind up being murdered in the year 1945 by someone dressed in a full combat uniform. Thirty-five years later, some college kids are the main target of someone who is killing people while dressed like a G.I.

The alternate title to this film is 'Rosemary's Killer'. Tom Savini is the genius behind the gory scenes.
