I Watched "Juno" . . . Again! Trivia Quiz

Juno was drinking from a huge Sunny Delight container, thinking about the chair that started it all. I noticed in the scene of her reflection that Paulie was NOT sitting on THAT brown chair when Juno sat on his lap. Maybe it was a continuity mistake or maybe the filmmakers thought no one would ever notice.

The chair Paulie was sitting on had a striped pattern, also seen again in his Tic-Tac fetish moment, and was more roomy than that single reclining brown chair in the opening sequence. I never did figure out whose dog Banana was, but it wasn't a MacGuff pet.

Her step-mom was waiting to get dogs after she moved out, as Juno was allergic to dog saliva.

Answer: "All I Want is You" by Barry Louis Polisar

I made up all the incorrect song titles to accompany real life artists. The song played over a live action sketch of Juno making her way from the chair to the drug store to buy another pregnancy test.
The opening lyrics are:
"If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves.."

Answer: Leah

After running madly away from Women Now, Juno told Leah that she was not going to terminate the pregnancy after all. She would just have the baby and give it to a nice couple. So, after she and Leah discovered a possible couple in the local "Penny Saver", they went to Juno's house to tell her parents.

Her dad was surprised to find out that Paulie was the father, citing he didn't think Paulie "had it in him". Leah laughingly agreed with that assessment of Paulie.

Answer: Morgan Freeman

She blurted out that she was suicidal, and Leah responded with "Juno?"
Juno sarcastically remarked that she was not Juno, but was in fact Morgan Freeman and wanted to know if Leah had any bones that needed collecting. As cute as the comment to Leah was, Denzel Washington actually played the bone collector in that movie of the same name.

She held it to her mouth, but it was never lit. She had the entire scene set up in front of his house so that he saw it when he came out to run. She complimented his mom on her use of color safe bleach, and then told Paulie they had made a baby. He agreed to let her make the best decision she needed to for herself.

She said she would just "nip it in the bud" before it lead to an infant, and he seemed to be okay with that idea. Seeing his reaction seemed to sadden her a little bit.

Answer: Amanda and Josh

Amanda and Josh also had a romantic history. Unfortunately, Amanda no longer trusted Josh and wouldn't take his advice (or orders) to go the nurse and lie down during lab. She had a menstrual migraine and claimed to be unable to look at bright lights.

She eventually decided to go lie down anyway. Steven Christopher Parker played Josh, and Candice Accola played Amanda. Though the actors are not credited with their character names, they can be heard in their dialogue with each other during the lab scene.

When Bren asked Juno if she'd barfed up her slushy in the urn next to the front door, Juno passed the buck onto L.B. Her dad then scolded L.B., using her full name of Liberty Bell, for putting way too many Bacos on her potatoes. Bacos are fake bacon bits.

He then threatened to spank her, but he was only playing. She and Juno shared a small laugh over the idea of a spanking. Sierra Pitkin played L.B.

Juno's narration told how her parents divorced around the time she was five. Her mom moved to a Havasu Reservation in Arizona with her new husband and three replacement kids. It was unclear if her mom gave birth to the three boys or if they came with her step-dad.

Juno: "Oh, and she inexplicably mails me a cactus every Valentine's Day. And, I'm like 'thanks a heap Coyote Ugly, this cactus-gram stings even worse than your abandonment'." Juno stated her parents divorced when she was around five years old, and it was presumed Juno hadn't seen her since.

She reported to the couple, and their lawyer, that she was 12 weeks along and due on May 4th. Then she went upstairs to use the restroom. Mark came up a few moments later and caught Juno helping herself to a small squirt of Happy. It seemed as though their bonding began right that moment, as just a while later they were enjoying Mark's guitar playing efforts. Vanessa had to come upstairs to retrieve them and get back to the meeting.

Though Mark and Vanessa were willing to send updates on the progress of Juno's offspring, Juno herself wanted no part of that idea. Juno was happy about a closed adoption and said "yes, let's close her on up".

She surmised that Carol may have been attractive in the past, but now looked a like a hobbit. She specifically mentioned it was "the fat one, the one in 'The Goonies'", which would have been Samwise played by actor/director Sean Astin. Once in Paulie's room she told him that her parents wouldn't rat him out as the father, and then went on to talk a little about Mark and Vanessa.

Paulie didn't like the idea at all, as he was in love with Juno. He said that Katrina, and her entire house, smelled like soup. Leah later confirmed this to be true when she informed Juno that he was taking her to Prom. It was actually to be Benihana, then Prom, then VJ's parents' cabin. Paulie confirmed all this to Juno as well.

He introduced her to a remake they did of a Carpenters' song. But, after he told Juno he was divorcing Vanessa, she admitted she thought they sucked and sounded like noise.

Since Paulie had a track meet against Manteno, Juno spared him the worry of even knowing she was giving birth. He broke a record and looked for her in the stands. He figured it out when he didn't see here there, and came to the hospital and curled up in bed with her while she wept. We never found out what Vanessa named the baby, Bren did get her Weimaraners, and Juno stayed with her true love - Paulie Bleeker. Michael Cera played the adorable Paulie.
