Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. There was a very well-loved copy of 'Utopia' in what movie?

Answer: Ever After

Danielle's father had brought it to her from his last trip before his death. Years later, her vicious stepsister threw it into the fire because Danielle had spited her and punched her in the face. Who can forget that great hit, though? I've never seen a movie character more deserving of a black eye!
2. This comedy had a very funny scene built around one woman's vibrator. What movie was it?

Answer: She's The One

Jennifer Aniston's character leaves the bed that her husband is lying in to go make use of her vibrator in the bathroom. When he's upset and asks what should have been a rhetorical question about what her mother would say, she retorted that her mom was the one who got it for her!
3. This thriller had some pretty cool scenes that just wouldn't have been the same without the fence dividing properties:

Answer: What Lies Beneath

Michelle Pfeiffer's character heard crying on the far side of the fence and went over to see what she could see. I think I jumped a little when her neighbor's eye popped up at the knothole.
4. Which of these movies has a decisive toupee?

Answer: The 'burbs

When the neighbors break into the stuffy guy's house, they find his toupee on the floor. Because he'd never be seen without it, they decide he must've been kidnapped by those strange neighbors. I think the funniest parts of this movie are when Corey Feldman is getting his friends over to watch the neighborhood unfold. Better than a movie...
5. In this movie, a toilet was first used to overcome the hero, then the hero used it to vanquish the enemy. What movie is it?

Answer: The Boondock Saints

Sean Patrick Flanery was handcuffed to the toilet while his brother was taken out to be disposed of. He pulled the toilet loose from the floor and dropped it off the building to knock out the bad guy. Now that's a creative use of an everyday appliance!
6. Okay, this should be like a free point. What movie featured a volleyball?

Answer: Cast Away

Of course! Wilson!
7. Which of these movies featured a bunch of porcupines (not the breathing, organic kind)?

Answer: The Pledge

The little girl who was killed had drawn pictures of the giant giving her porcupines. Then later Jack Nicholson finds that Robin Wright Penn's daughter's been given little chocolate porcupines. Time to call out the guard (literally).
8. Which of the following movies featured a walk-in freezer, that could have been credited as a filming location?

Answer: Summer of Sam

The freezer was at Mira Sorvino's father's restaurant, and they often sat in there. Testament to the extreme heat of the summer. I could have put 'The Shining' in here, but that would've been way too easy!
9. If you've seen this horror movie, you should remember a scene that wouldn't have been the same without a hammer and nail. What movie is it?

Answer: The Serpent and the Rainbow

Bill Pullman's character got picked up by the police and one of them professed a desire to hear him scream. Let's just say that the hammer and nail were used for a particularly gruesome form of torture that no male could ever forget, and the cop definitely got his wish.
10. This movie adapted from a Stephen King novel had a typewriter in it that eventually saved the hero's life. What movie is it?

Answer: Misery

Annie had given the typewriter to Paul so that he could finish the manuscript, but at the end she incurs some rather nasty and ultimately fatal head wounds from the machine.
