"Spaceballs" is a 1987 parody on the "Star Wars" movies, and features Bill Pullman as "Lone Starr" who is a parody of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. John Candy stars as "Barf", a half-man, half-dog creature which parodies Chewbacca.

Bill Murray appears in the 1991 comedy, "What About Bob?" as Bob Wiley, a mentally troubled man who is referred to psychiatrist Dr. Leo Marvin, played by Richard Dreyfuss. Marvin has an inflated ego, but Bob thinks he can cure him of his problems, so when Marvin goes on a family vacation, Bob follows him and through his persistent hounding of Marvin, eventually drives the doctor mad.

Murray appears in the 1993 film "Groundhog Day", in which he plays Phil Connors, a tv weatherman who wakes up one day to find himself caught in a perpetual loop of living the same day over and over. Andie MacDowell plays his love interest in the film, who doesn't seem all that interested in Phil at first, but with much trial and error, Phil is able to win her over.

"The Man Who Knew Too Little" came out in 1997 and also features Bill Murray. It is a parody of Alfred Hitchcock's 1934 movie "The Man Who Knew Too Much". Murray plays Wallace Ritchie, a man from Iowa who flies to London, England to stay with his brother who lives there. While in London, Ritchie inadvertently answers a pay phone call by a hitman, and proceeds to unwittingly place himself in many dangerous, albeit hilarious situations.

Bill Paxton starred in the 1995 movie "Apollo 13", which is a true story about the 1970 aborted moon landing attempt by NASA astronauts Jim Lovell (played by Tom Hanks), Jim Swigert (Kevin Bacon), and Fred Haise, who is played by Paxton. The film chronicles the crew's disastrous mission as it finds them trying to get back home safely after a tank containing liquid oxygen explodes while enroute to the moon.

"Casper" is a 1995 comedy-drama starring Bill Pullman as Dr. James Harvey, who moves to a mansion with his daughter Kat, played by Christina Ricci. Upon moving in to the home, they experience the house is occupied by four ghosts, Casper the Friendly Ghost, and his three mischievous uncles, Stretch, Fatso, and Stinkie. Casper is constantly having to mitigate the harm made by his uncles, and becomes a hero by the end of the movie by sacrificing a chance at returning to human form, by saving James Harvey's life.

Paxton also starred in the 1996 action movie "Twister", which features Helen Hunt as Jo Harding, a meteorologist, who leads a group of storm chasers in Oklahoma for tornado research. Paxton plays Bill Harding, Jo's husband who used to be a storm chaser, and is preparing to sign divorce papers before being compelled to join her on another storm chase, and a hectic adventure ensues.

"Sling Blade" is a 1996 drama that stars Billy Bob Thornton, who also wrote and directed the movie. He plays a mentally challenged man named Karl Childers, who grew up in a mental hospital after murdering his mother and a man with whom she was having an affair. Childers is released from the hospital as an adult, and he befriends a 12 year old named Frank with whom he becomes good friends. Karl acts as a mentor to the boy, and after seeing the abuse his mother's boyfriend inflicts on virtually everyone he is around, Karl takes matters into his own hands in efforts to relieve the abuse on Frank and his mother.

"A Simple Plan" is a 1998 crime movie that stars both Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton. The two play brothers Hank and Jacob Mitchell, who discover a plane crash in Minnesota along with their friend Lou, who is played by Brent Briscoe. They also find more than $4 million at the site, and try to keep the findings a secret, a secret that turns them against one another, and eventually turns in to tragedy.

"Bad Santa" is a 2003 dark comedy that features Billy Bob Thornton as Willie Soke, a con-artist who, along with his partner Marcus Skidmore, played by Tony Cox, each year get jobs as Santa Claus and his Elf at a mall in order to rob and plunder it on Christmas Eve. Willie is an alcoholic low-life, who is able to take advantage of a young boy with low self-esteem, in to allowing him to stay at his house while he is acting as Santa. Along the way, Willie befriends the boy, and is able to realize the life he has been leading is worth examining for a change of lifestyle.
