Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Janey Briggs was walking down the stairs, in one scene from "Not Another Teen Movie", when they collapsed and she fell into the basement. Prior to this event, who assisted in giving Janey a new look?

Answer: Catherine

Janey (Chyler Leigh) played the awkward girl who Jake (Chris Evans) agreed to take to the prom, after making a bet with his friends. She was considered a loser because she wore glasses and a pony tail. Jake's sister Catherine (Mia Kirshner) helped to change her look under the condition that Jake do something for her in return. This scene in the movie was reminiscent of part of the story in the 1999 film "She's All That".

"Not Another Teen Movie" was a 2001 parody of several teen movies dealing with the every day hurdles teenagers have to face.

Chyler Leigh played June Tuesday on the short-lived 2002 series "That '80s Show". Chris Evans played Johnny Storm in the 2004 film "Fantastic Four". Mia Kirshner played Jenny Schecter in the cable television series "The L Word".
2. After a confrontation with his wife Wendy, Jack fell down the stairs, courtesy of a baseball bat and an error in his footing. This was a classic scene from the 1980 thriller called "The Shining". Which ghost suggested Jack kill his wife and son?

Answer: Delbert Grady

"The Shining" was about a married couple who agreed to take care of a hotel while it was closed for the winter. Jack (Jack Nicholson) and Wendy (Shelley Duvall), along with their young son Danny (Danny Lloyd), had to deal with frightening events in a hotel which was haunted as a result of murders which had taken place there years before. It didn't help matters when Jack started losing his mind and decided to go on his own murder spree. He snapped and went after Wendy. She was protecting herself with a baseball bat, which Jack was trying to take from her as they climbed the stairs. After a few swings, she finally connected and Jack went sprawling downward.

Delbert Grady (Philip Stone) was the caretaker for the Overlook Hotel many years earlier. He murdered his wife and twin daughters before shooting himself in the head. His ghost came to Jack and influenced him to try and do the same.
3. John Bender fell through the ceiling while sneaking back into the library in the movie "The Breakfast Club". Right before this occurred he was telling a joke, to himself, about a blonde who walked into a bar with two things. One was a poodle. What was the other?

Answer: Two foot salami

"A naked blonde walks into a bar with a poodle under one arm and a two foot salami under the other..." was all John (Judd Nelson) said before being interrupted by falling through the ceiling tiles. Principal Vernon (Paul Gleason) had locked him in a supply closet after finding him in the school gymnasium instead of where he was supposed to be.

"The Breakfast Club" was about five students who had to spend Saturday in school detention, as punishment for whatever each of them had done to get into trouble. This 1985 film was directed by John Hughes. It also starred Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez and Anthony Michael Hall.
4. Sidney Prescott fell off the roof, after climbing out a window to escape being murdered, in the 1996 movie "Scream". What broke her fall?

Answer: Boat

The would-be murderer broke through the barricaded door to a second story room, just after she got out the window. Sidney (Neve Campbell) landed on a boat that was covered with a tarp. I'm sure it still hurt.

"Scream" was one of the most successful horror films of all time. It was about two teenagers who would call potential victims and then kill them. It also starred Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard. A sequel followed in 1997 and a third installment was released in 2000.
5. When the phone rang, Jam fell down on his way to answer it, in a scene from the movie "Detroit Rock City". What caused him to fall?

Answer: He was tangled in a piece of exercise equipment.

Jam (Sam Huntington) received a morning phone call from his friends because they had lost the tickets to an upcoming Kiss concert. It turned out that Jam had grabbed somebody else's jacket by mistake and the tickets were in the pocket.

"Detroit Rock City" was about four teens who do anything to get into a Kiss concert. The tickets they originally had were set on fire by Jam's mother (Lin Shaye) because she thought the rock group were Satanic.

Huntington was also in the 1997 movie "Jungle 2 Jungle" with Tim Allen. Lin Shaye appeared in many films including "Kingpin" (1996) and "Dumb And Dumber" (1994).
6. During a scene from "BASEketball", several people, while watching the game, fell off the roof of a house. During the same scene, Coop and Mr. Denslow were having a conversation. What singer did Denslow mention the kids liking?

Answer: Dan Fogelberg

The guys were sitting on the roof so they could have a better view of the game. "BASEketball" was about two guys named Coop (Trey Parker) and Remer (Matt Stone) who invented a sport combining baseball and basketball. Millionaire Ted Denslow (Ernest Borgnine) was talking to Coop about taking the game national, because it could be played by anyone. He was talking about the attention span most people had in this day and age and said, "You kids today with your video games and your Dan Fogelberg." Coop looked puzzled by this comment.

The movie came out in 1998. The last time mellow singer Dan Folgelberg had a hit single was 1988. It was called "Seeing You Again" and reached #15 on the U.S. charts, according to "Billboard" magazine.

"BASEketball" stars Parker and Stone created the popular animated television series "South Park". The film also starred Jenny McCarthy, Yasmine Bleeth, Dian Bachar, Robert Vaughn and Robert Stack. Watch for cameos by Reggie Jackson and Dale Earnhardt.
7. Rock singer Bobby Black fell down, and stayed down, while performing on stage in the movie "The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane". What song were he, and his band Black Plague, performing when this happened?

Answer: Rock And Roll Junkie

Motley Crue singer Vince Neil portrayed Bobby Black in this 1990 comedy starring Andrew Dice Clay, Wayne Newton and Priscilla Presley. Bobby Black had been poisoned by evil record executive Julian Grendel (Newton).

Clay portrayed private investigator Ford Fairlane. He specialized in working for people in the music industry.

The song "Rock And Roll Junkie" was actually recorded by Motley Crue. The members of Black Plague were played by Carlos Cavazo of Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne band members Phil Soussan and Randy Castillo.
8. After Santa Claus fell of the roof, Scott Calvin had to fill his shoes in the 1994 movie "The Santa Clause". When later asked what he and his son Charlie did that Christmas Eve, which of these was NOT a response from Scott?

Answer: "Cruised the streets for chicks."

After Scott (Tim Allen) delivered presents in Santa's place, his son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) became fascinated with his father's new job. Everybody was concerned with Charlie's unbelievable story of how he traveled to the North Pole with his dad, and a conference was held with the school principal. Charlie's stepfather Neil (Judge Reinhold) asked Scott what he and Charlie had did that Christmas Eve and Scott was simply making smart remarks. He eventually fessed up that he had read Charlie a story before bedtime. Scott didn't tell the truth because he didn't believe it himself at first.

Tim Allen was the star of the very popular television sitcom "Home Improvement" from 1991 to 1999. He also supplied the voice for Buzz Lightyear in the 1995 movie "Toy Story".

By the way, actor Eric Lloyd portrayed Kevin Arnold in flashback scenes in the T.V. series "The Wonder Years" (1988-1993).
9. Billy The Kid fell down while tending to the cantankerous pigs in the movie "Young Guns". Afterwards, who asked Billy if he knew pigs were as smart as dogs?

Answer: Charley

"Did you know pigs is as smart as dogs?" Charley (Casey Siemaszko) asked, after noticing Billy (Emilio Estevez) was having trouble taking care of them.

The 1988 film "Young Guns" was about a group of young men called The Regulators. They had to deal with the evil Lawrence Murphy (Jack Palance) after he had their friend John Tunstall (Terence Stamp) murdered. This action-packed western also featured Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Dermot Mulroney and Lou Diamond Phillips.
10. Neal Page fell down a hillside when he had to walk back to the airport in "Planes, Trains And Automobiles". He had taken a shuttle to the parking lot to get his rental car, but the automobile was missing. What was the name of the business he rented the car from?

Answer: Marathon

Neal (Steve Martin) walked up to the car rental desk, wet and dirty after his walk down a highway and across a runway, and the receptionist said, "Welcome to Marathon. May I help you?" He was pretty irate with his previous misfortunes and let many expletitives fly, which are unprintable on this site.

"Planes, Trains And Automobiles" was about a guy trying to get home for Thanksgiving. Thanks to bad weather, he had trouble making it on time. He also met up with an annoying salesman named Dale Griffith (John Candy) who accompanied him on most of the trip. The pair had several unfortunate, but hilarious, things happen to them along the way. This film was released in 1987.
