Greg Kinnear plays a professor in the movie. Jesse Metcalfe and Heath Ledger do not appear in the movie at all.

He loves Dora Diamond, who is dating the professor. Paul and Dora meet in one of their classes. Dora is outspoken about many things. She thinks she just likes Paul as a friend but then she realises she loves him. Dora and Paul end up together at the end of the movie.
