Dana Kimmell definitely puts the scream in "scream queen"... to say the least! Kimmell stars as Chris Higgins, who along with several of her friends goes to her old home that is located in, you guessed it... Crystal Lake! They think they will enjoy some fun and relaxation, but instead wind up face to face with the lake's resident killer Jason Voorhees.

After all of her friends are slaughtered one by one, poor Chris is left all alone to try to put an end to Jason's mayhem! 'Friday the 13th Part III' (1982) is the second sequel in the lengthy film franchise, and also the first time we see Jason wearing what becomes his signature hockey mask.

Answer: The Funhouse

Tobe Hooper directs this 1981 slasher that stars Elizabeth Berridge as our final girl. She plays the role of Amy, who along with her boyfriend Buzz, her best friend Liz, and Liz's boyfriend Richie goes to a creepy carnival. They get locked in overnight and experience sheer terror as a deformed maniac named Gunther hunts them down and violently murders them... except for Amy of course. Our brave heroine is the only one who makes it out of the funhouse alive!

Another great horror flick from the year 1981 is a creeper titled 'Hell Night', which stars Linda Blair as Marti Gaines. Marti, along with Jeff, Denise and Seth, are left to spend the night in a huge creepy mansion due to a fraternity hazing. The old estate has a murderous history and is the subject of a creepy backstory about the previous owner named Raymond Garth, who murdered his whole family in the mansion and then hung himself. Unfortunately for Marti and her pals, someone is definitely alive in the abandoned mansion... and is out for blood! After a long night of trying to survive, Marti is the only one left alive to escape by morning.

Answer: Black Christmas

The 1974 Canadian horror slasher 'Black Christmas' is directed by Bob Clark. It is about about a group of sorority girls who are the subjects of harassment by a mysterious pervert. He calls them and creeps them out with heavy breathing and lewd comments.

Not knowing that the calls are coming from inside the house, the girls wind up meeting their untimely deaths one by one! Jess Bradford is the final girl here, having to escape the killer and put an end to the terror all by herself... or does she? The ending of this film is a mystery in itself, continuing even as the credits roll.

This movie, that spawned a 2006 sequel produced by Clark, stars Hussey as Jess, Andrea Martin, Margot Kidder and John Saxon.

Answer: Happy Birthday to Me

This movie has always been one of my favorites for the simple fact that it is very unique! 'Happy Birthday to Me' is a gem of a slasher that entered the genre right at the heart of the slasher decade! This 1981 film stars Tracey E. Bregman, Glenn Ford, Matt Craven and Melissa Sue Anderson as "Ginny"... the film's final girl! Flashbacks show that several years earlier, Ginny has brain surgery due to a terrible accident that kills her mother. Because of the trauma to her brain, she sometimes experiences blackouts and memory loss.

This makes things very confusing for her. Plus all of her friends go missing one by one. Could Ginny be responsible for their deaths, or is someone playing tricks on her? In some horror films, things don't always turn out good at the end for the final female survivor... and this film is one of them.

Answer: Curse of Chucky

'Curse of Chucky' (2013) is the sixth film in the 'Child's Play' franchise. In this one, real life father and daughter star as villain and final heroine! Brad Dourif is the voice of killer doll Chucky, while his daughter Fiona plays the role of Nica, who is born paraplegic due to her mother Sarah being stabbed in the stomach while pregnant with her. Twenty-five years later, Sarah is killed not too long after a "Good Guy" doll mysteriously arrives in the mail at the home her and Nica share. Nica's older sister Barb, Barb's husband Ian, their young daughter Alice and a young woman named Jill who is their live-in nanny come to stay with Nica after Sarah's death. Nica cooks dinner for everyone including Father Frank who also comes to visit. Viewers can pretty much figure out what happens next. All of the adults are murdered, leaving poor Nica to deal with Chucky. Again, things do not go well for this final girl!

Answer: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The 1974 film 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is a horror classic. It stars late horror legend Gunnar Hansen as Leatherface, who is the main villain in the film... as well as the creepiest! Sally Hardesty is our final girl here after all of her friends get tortured and slaughtered by Leatherface and his family of cannibals.

She manages to escape when a man driving by saves her and puts her in the back of his pick-up truck. The end of the film shows Sally screaming hysterically while Leatherface is in the road spinning around and swinging his chainsaw. Tobe Hooper directs this disturbing film that spawned sequels, remakes and a prequel.

Answer: The Final Girls

'The Final Girls' is a horror slasher/comedy that pays homage to the '80s slasher era. Max Cartwright loses her mother Amanda (who was a horror actress in the 1986 film 'Camp Bloodbath') to a car accident that Max survives. Fast forward three years, Max and her friends go to see a special anniversary screening of 'Camp Bloodbath' and it's sequel 'Camp Bloodbath 2: Cruel Summer'.

When the theatre accidentally catches fire, Max and her pals rip through the movie screen to escape, and wind up in the film... as well as into the year 1986! While at the camp in the film, they encounter the movie's villain, who slashes his way through everyone... including Max's friends and her mother Amanda who plays the role of Nancy (the film's "scream queen"). That leaves Max to kill the masked maniac on her own.

This entertaining film stars Taissa Farmiga, Malin Ackerman, Adam Devine and Nina Dobrev, to name a few.

Answer: Alien

Ahh... the 1979 horror/sci-fi gem 'Alien'. A definite classic directed by Ridley Scott, which stars Sigourney Weaver as our beloved heroine Ellen Ripley. In this first film of the franchise, Ripley and a crew of six other astronauts are on their way back home to Earth when their spacecraft makes a stop on a planetoid where a crewmember named Kane finds a bunch of very large, slimy eggs.

He is attacked and brought back to the ship without anyone knowing that he has a baby alien inside him. The tiny alien bursts out of his chest killing him, then runs off to hide in the huge spacecraft.

It grows to a very large size, and one by one kills all of the crewmembers... except Ripley! She is the last one left to face our creepy villain! This franchise has a total of four films which star Weaver as Ripley.

Many horror fans will tell you that 'Friday the 13th' is the film that started the whole "killer at camp" trend that was so popular in the 1980s. It also is responsible for many sequels, a remake, video games and a TV show. Alice and her friends are at Camp Crystal Lake as counselors to get the campsite ready for the summer.

Unfortunately, someone has a bone to pick with the counselors, and starts killing them off, as well as anyone else who happens to be at the campsite. Alice winds up being the last one left to fight for her life until she eventually puts an end to the killer's reign of terror! This classic stars Betsy Palmer as Pamela Voorhees, as well as Kevin Bacon, Harry Crosby, and Adrienne King as the "final girl".
