1. A real life mother and daughter appear in the 1980s horror film, "The Fog". What are the names of the famous duo?

Answer: Janet Leigh & Jamie Lee Curtis

"The Fog" was released in 1980 and directed by John Carpenter. The story revolves around a small costal village and a thick dense fog that contains the revenge seeking ghosts of a boat that crashed into the rocks many years earlier.

Jeanette Helen Morrison was born 6 July 1927 in Merced, California. She made her acting debut in "The Romance of Rosy Ridge", in 1947. One of her biggest roles was playing Marion Crane in the classic Alfred Hitchcock film, "Psycho". One of the scene most people remember the film for is the iconic shower scene.

Janet passed away on 3 October 2004.

On the 4 June 1941, Janet married fellow actor Tony Curtis. Jamie Lee was born 22 November 1958 in Santa Monica, California. Jamie made her acting debut in "Quincy, M.E." in 1977. Her film breakthrough was playing Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's "Halloween" in 1978. Jamie has since gone on to star in many films and is considered a Scream Queen due to the vast amount of horror films she has appeared in.

Janet and Jamie also both appeared in "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later". The scene also contains the title music from "Psycho".
2. In what film do we see a farmer and his sister kidnapping people to use in the special meat they produce?

Answer: Motel Hell

"Motel Hell" was released in 1980 and tells the story of Farmer Vincent and his sister Ida. The duo kidnap people and end up burying them in the garden. They are then force fed until they are ready to be harvested and turned into special sausages.
3. In what film did Deborah Foreman play the character Muffy?

Answer: April Fool's Day

"April Fool's Day" was released in 1986. The story is about a group of friends who are going away for the weekend and how Muffy has set up a series of different pranks with disastrous consequences.

Deborah Foreman was born on 12 October 1962 in Montebello, California. At the age of 13, her parents enrolled Deborah into Barbizon School of Modelling in order to try and make her less shy. She made her acting debut in "The Grady Nutt Show" in 1983 she starred alongside Nicolas Cage in "Valley Girl".

Deborah retired from acting in 1991. She did however make a cameo in the 2020 remake of "Valley Girl".
4. In what film do we see Angela Lansbury playing a character called Granny?

Answer: The Company of Wolves

"The Company of Wolves" is a British horror film released in 1984. The story is about a young girl who is plagued by nightmares about werewolves. She spends a lot of time with her granny, who loves telling her stories about werewolves and the human form they take on.

Angela Lansbury was born 16 October 1926 in London, England. Her mother was an actress and her father was a politician. In 1940, Angela moved to the USA in order to avoid the blitz. She made her acting debut in the 1944 film "Gaslight". In 1984, Angela made the move to TV when she starred in "Murder, She Wrote". The series ran from 1984 all the way through to 1996.

Angela passed away on 11 October 2022.
5. In what film do we see someone dressed in mining gear going around killing people?

Answer: My Bloody Valentine

"My Bloody Valentine" was released in 1981 (to coincide with Valentines Day weekend) and was directed by George Mihalka. Due to the large amounts of violence in the film, nine minutes were cut from the film before it was released.

The story revolves around a mining town and the aftermath of an explosion that happened may years earlier. In 2009 a remake "My Bloody Valentine 3D" was released.
6. What is the name of the caretaker from the film, "The Burning"?

Answer: Cropsy

"The Burning" was released in 1981. The film is about a caretaker who ends up badly burned after a prank goes wrong. Many years later, Cropsy returns to the camp to seek revenge. The character is loosely based on the Cropsey Urban Legend.

Lou David played the character Cropsy. He made his acting debut in "Come Back, Charleston Blue".
7. The character Stretch appears in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2".

Caroline Williams plays that character Stretch in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2". The character also make a brief appearance in "Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III". Caroline made her acting debut in the 1975 film, "Smile". She has since went onto appear in many films and TV shows over the years.

"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" was released in 1986. The story revolves around a radio DJ named Stretch, the Swayer family and Lieutenant Boude "Lefty" Enrigh, the uncle of Sally and Franklin Hardesty (the brother and sister from the first film). Lefty is seeking revenge for the death of Franklin.
8. What is the name of the pub in "An American Werewolf in London"?

Answer: The Slaughtered Lamb

"An American Werewolf in London" was released in 1981, it was directed by John Landis. The story revolves around two American men, David and Jack who are visiting England and end up being attacked by a werewolf on the Yorkshire moors. The pub in the film is actually called the Slaughtered Lamb. The outside of the pub was actually a cottage located in Crickadarn, and the internal shots were filmed in Black Swan, Old Lane, Martyrs Green in Surrey.

Michael Jackson was a big fan of the film and called John to let him know. John later went on to direct the "Thriller" music video.

Rick Baker was the man in charge of transforming David, into the werewolf. He went onto win the first ever Oscar for makeup artistry.

A sequel to the the film called "An American Werewolf in Paris" was released in 1997. Not as good as the original but still worth a watch. I personally think "An American Werewolf in London" is still one of the best werewolf films out there, even though the scene on the underground still scares me a little bit.

"Blood Rage" was released in 1987 and directed by John Grissmer. The film is also known as "Slasher" and "Nightmare at Shadow Woods". The film revolves around identical twin boys, and how one of them kills someone and blames it on his brother.

Filming of "Blood Rage" actually started in 1983. It was mostly filmed in Jacksonville, Florida.

Actor Ted Raimi made his acting debut in the film. Ted is the younger brother of legendary film producer, director and screenwriter Sam Raimi.
10. Bruce Campbell stars in the 1980s horror film, "Maniac Cop". What character does he play?

Answer: Jack W. Forrest Jr.

"Maniac Cop" was released in 1988 and directed by William Lustig. The story revolves around - you guessed it - a maniac cop who is going on a killing spree in New York City. Since the release of "Maniac Cop", two sequels were released. "Maniac Cop 2" in 1990 and three years later "Maniac Cop III: Badge of Silence" was released in 1993.

In "Maniac Cop", Bruce Campbell plays the character Officer Jack W. Forrest Jr. Bruce was born on 22 June 1958 in, Royal Oak, Michigan. He made his acting debut in the 1977 film "It's Murder!". In 1981, he played the lead role of Ash Williams in "Evil Dead" and the sequels that followed as well as the TV series.
