Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. From what episode of the 'Star Wars' series would you find this quote? "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed".

Answer: Star Wars (1977)

The quote is said by James Earl Jones, who provided the voice for the character 'Darth Vader'. Darth Vader says the quote to Admiral Motti and Governor Tarkin following a discussion about how to maintain control. Admiral Motti refers to the 'Death Star' saying, "This station is now the ultimate power in the universe!" (another well known quote).

The actual actor that played 'Darth Vader' was David Prowse. The reason that Jones provided the voice for Darth Vader was because Prowse had an English accent. A former bodybuilder, David Prowse is a massive 6'5" (1.96 m) high.
2. In what movie does Joe Pesci ask the question, "I'm funny how? I mean, funny like I'm a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh?"

Answer: Goodfellas (1990)

The quote is from the restaurant scene at the beginning of the movie, where Joe Pesci (playing the role of Tommy Devito) addresses Ray Liotta (playing the role of gangster, Henry Hill). The rest of the quote can't be used in this quiz because of the language content.

The movie itself has a very high percentage of "bad" words, half of those are spoken by Pesci.

The scene is apparently based on a true life incident where Pesci did actually tell a mobster that he was funny and the mobster did not take it too well. Pesci and Liotta were allowed to improv the scene.
3. Complete the rest of this quote, "I gotta do something here, I still can't believe it. I gotta give you your dream shot! I'm gonna send you up against the best. You two characters, are going to __________".

Answer: Top Gun

No movie quote quiz is complete without a quote from 'Top Gun'! This movie starring Tom Cruise, Meg Ryan, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards and a lot of F-14 Tomcat fighter jets was released in 1986.

The quote was said by James Tolkan (playing the role of "Stinger") when he was forced to send Tom Cuise ("Maverick") and his offsider "Goose" to the Top Gun Training School.

Unrelated 'Top Gun' fun fact: James Tolkan starred in all three "Back to the Future" movies. He played the role of Mr Strickland.
4. In what movie did John Malkovich say this quote, "That's the history of the world, Lieutenant. Some people die before their time so that others can live; it's the cornerstone of civilization."?

Answer: Mulholland Falls (1996)

'Mulholland Falls' was released in 1996. The movie is set in the 1950s and follows the investigation of the death of a young girl that is dumped off the Los Angeles road, Mulholland Drive.

The quote is said by Malkovich (playing the role of General Timms) to Nick Nolte (Max Hoover).
5. Who says this quote, "So, what would you little maniacs like to do first?" and what movie is it from?

Answer: Kelly Lebrock - 'Weird Science' (1985)

A classic teen movie from 1985, 'Weird Science', tells the story of two geeks who create the "Perfect Woman" from a doll and a computer. Kelly LeBrock plays the role of "Lisa", the perfect woman. Think of it as a modern day version of Frankenstein!

She makes this comment to the two boys who created her, once she becomes alive.
6. What Science Fiction movie do these quotes come from? "Movement. Signal's clean. Range, 20 meters." "Let's Rock!" "Not bad for a human."

Answer: Aliens (1986)

'Aliens' is the sequel movie to 'Alien' featuring Sigourney Weaver playing the role of Ellen Ripley. Weaver appeared in four movies of the same franchise.

The quote "Movement. Signal's clean. Range, 20 meters." is said by Bill Paxton (Pvt. Hudson)

"Let's Rock!" is said by Jenette Goldstein (Pvt. Vasquez)

"Not bad for a human." is said by Lance Henriksen (Bishop)

Jenette Goldstein (that played 'Vasquez') appeared in both 'Aliens' and 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day'.
7. Name the movie that this quote comes from. Man One: "I love her!" Man Two: "Way wrong answer!" (shotgun blast)

Answer: Armageddon (1998)

Over-protective Bruce Willis says this quote to Ben Affleck after Ben advises Bruce that he loves his daughter (played by Liv Tyler). The scene takes place on an oil rig.
8. Name the movie. "You're offering me a bribe. What you have just done is illegal and in this state if convicted, you could be fined up to $5,000 or spend six months in a correction facility!"

Answer: The Cable Guy (1996)

Good 'ole Jim Carrey delivers in this movie. 'The Cable Guy' takes stalking to a new level. If you haven't been stalked, watch this movie and get a taste of it! Haha.

The quote is said to Matthew Broderick after Jim Carrey is offered a bribe to get his cable TV installed.

The movie was directed by Ben Stiller.
9. John Travolta says "You just activated a nuclear warhead, my friend", but in what movie does he say it?

Answer: Broken Arrow (1996)

If you ever hear the term "Broken Arrow" outside of a movie, you are in trouble! It is used to describe a misplaced nuclear weapon. John Travolta and Christian Slater go head to head in this 1996 movie.

Travolta says this quote once a nuclear device is activated.
10. "I've been a bad, bad girl", is from what movie, and who said it?

Answer: 'Resident Evil' (2002) - Red Queen (played by Michaela Dicker)

The Red Queen is an artificial intelligent computer system that takes the holographic form of a little girl. The Red Queen says this quote after one of the group is found to be a traitor and escapes. The remainder of the group thinks that he has managed to escape, prompting Red Queen to make her statement. You will have to watch the movie to see how she was a "bad, bad girl".

By 2012 Michaela Dicker had only appeared in one mainstream movie role, that movie being, 'Resident Evil'.

Prior to playing the role of Red Queen, she appeared in the TV series, 'Stig of the Dump' (2002) and a TV movie, 'The Sight' (2000).

The 'Resident Evil' franchise, featuring Milla Jovovich, has produced six movies:

'Resident Evil' (2002)
'Resident Evil: Apocalypse' (2004)
'Resident Evil: Extinction' (2007)
'Resident Evil: Afterlife' (2010)
'Resident Evil: Retribution' (2012)
