Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Moore, Roger Moore, took over the role of James Bond in 1973's "Live and Let Die." Before Moore took the role, another actor played Bond in 1969's "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." Who was this double-oh one-timer?

Answer: George Lazenby

Playing James Bond was George Lazenby's first major role. While he was offered a multi-film contract to play, Lazenby felt that the contract was too demanding and that he would have no problem getting other movie roles. In 1973, Lazenby signed a contract with the Hong Kong-based Golden Harvest studios to co-star with Bruce Lee in a series of films as Lee's "Western Adversary". Lazenby's planned comeback was not as big as he hoped after Lee died shortly after the contract was signed. Lazenby would play parodies of the "James Bond" character in the 1983 TV movie "The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E." and the episode "Diamonds Aren't Forever" of The New Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Ian Flemming had David Niven in mind for Bond, rather than Sean Connery. Flemming was quoted as saying, "I'm looking for Commander James Bond, not an overgrown stunt man". when he met Connery. Niven did play Bond in the parody "Casino Royale". Woody Allen was also in "Casino Royale" as Jimmy Bond. Timothy Dalton was offered the role in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", but turned it down because he felt he was too young to play the role.
2. "Tell me more. Tell me more. Was it love at first sight?" "Tell me more. Tell me more. Did she put up a fight?" In this scene from "Grease", Sandy is singing about her summer with Danny, Danny is singing about his summer with Sandy, and the Pink Ladies and T-birds each want to know more. What song is this from?

Answer: Summer Nights

Sandy is sitting at the lunch table and says, "It was so romantic." Danny and the guys are sitting on the bleachers and Danny states, "Come on, you don't want to hear all the horny details!" Then they break into song and start dancing. "...but oh, those summer nights!"

"Summer Nights" was covered by Van Halen in 1986. "Summer Nights" was remixed with "Greased Lightin'" and "You're the One That I Want" for 1991's "The Grease Megamix".
3. In "Robin Hood: Men in Tights", Robin Hood breaks out of Khalil Prison with the help of the Moor, Asneeze. Asneeze asks Robin to find and look after his son, Ahchoo. What "Half Baked" comedian/actor played Ahchoo as his first major role?

Answer: Dave Chappelle

After "Robin Hood: Men in Tights", Dave Chappelle had supporting roles in "Con Air", "Blue Streak", and "You've Got Mail". Chappelle co-wrote the script for "Half Baked" and starred as Thurgood Jenkins. Chappelle created, wrote, and starred in "Chappelle's Show" on Comedy Central.

In "Half Baked", Clarence Williams III played Samson Simpson, Harlan Williams played Kenny Davis, and Jim Breuer played Brian.
4. Michael Moore is known for documentaries such as "Roger & Me", "Bowling for Columbine" and "Fahrenheit 9/11". One of Moore's lesser known films is not a documentary, but a satire about the United States going to war with Canada to improve the President's approval rating. What was the name of this 1995 film starring John Candy, Alan Alda, and Kevin Pollak?

Answer: Canadian Bacon

"Canadian Bacon" was generally not liked by critics (see the Rotten Tomatoes website for proof). The film is notable for being the last film John Candy worked before his death while filming "Wagons East" and being his last film released at the box office.
5. 1966's "A Man for All Seasons" is about the life and death of St. Thomas More. A devout Catholic, More finds himself at odds with the King of England over the King's decision to break with the Catholic Church and establish the Church of England. More soon finds himself convicted of treason and is beheaded. Who was this King of England?

Answer: Henry VIII

Thomas More refused to acknowledge Henry VIII as the Head of the English Church, resigned as Lord Chancellor, and refused to attend the coronation of Anne Boleyn. Since More did not speak out specifically against Henry VIII and was silent during his trial, More was convicted by a witness's false testimony.

"A Man for All Seasons" won the Oscar for Best Picture.
6. Mekhi Phifer, Josh Hartnett, Andrew Keegan, and Julia Stiles star in "O". Much like "10 Things I Hate About You", this is a retelling of a Shakespearean play in a high school setting. Odin is a successful basketball player with a beautiful girlfriend and is friends with the rich and popular Michael Cassio. Hugo, the coach's son, grows jealous of Odin and plots to ruin Odin and Cassio. The original play was titled "The Tragedy of _________, the Moor of Venice". What is the character name missing in the title?

Answer: Othello

Mekhi Phifer plays Odin James to Shakespeare's Othello. Josh Hartnett does an update of Iago as Hugo Goulding. Andrew Keegan keeps the original character name of Michael Cassio. Julia Stiles channels Desdemona as Desi Brable.

For comparisons sake, you can watch Laurence Fishburne, Kenneth Branagh and Irčne Jacob in 1995's "Othello".
7. Born Demi Gene Guynes, this actress is known for roles in movies such as "Ghost", "A Few Good Men" and "Indecent Proposal". What name is she professionally known by?

Answer: Demi Moore

While professionally known at Demi Moore, she is legally Demi Kutcher. Demi legally changed her name two years after her marriage to Ashton Kutcher. The surname Moore is from her first marriage to Freddy Moore.
8. In the film, "For a Few Dollars More", Clint Eastwood's "Man With No Name" character is referred to as Manco. If you pay attention in "For a Few Dollars More", you'll see that the Man With No Name does everything, except for shooting, left-handed. What is likely the English translation for the Spanish word "manco?"

Answer: one-handed

You'll see the Man With No Name go by Joe in "Fistful of Dollars" and Blondie in "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" in the other films in Sergio Leone's "Dollars" trilogy.
9. This film, based on the book by Emily Bronte, is set on the Yorkshire Moors. The story of the tragic relationship of Heathcliff and Catherine is told through flashbacks. What movie is this?

Answer: Wuthering Heights

1939's "Wuthering Heights" was nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture, but won only for Best Cinematography (in a black and white film). It was included on the American Film Institutes lists of Top 100 Movies and Top 100 Passions.

Many people, myself included, have mistakenly referred to the book and film as "Withering Heights".

"Jane Eyre" was written by Emily's sister, Charlotte Bronte.
10. Unlike other singer/actresses around the same age, she didn't get her start on "The Mickey Mouse Club", but she has worked in Disney films. You can hear her lending her voice to Rapunzel in "Tangled" and see her in "The Princess Diaries". Who is this non-Mouseketeer?

Answer: Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore got her start signing the National Anthem at various athletic events in Orlando. Her first starring role was as Jamie Sullivan in the film, "A Walk to Remember" which was followed up with starring roles in "How to Deal", "Chasing Liberty" and "Saved"!

Hilary Duff's work for Disney includes her big break as the title character in "Lizzy McGuire" and the Disney Channel movie "Cadet Kelly".

Jennifer Love Hewitt got her start with "Kids Incorporated". She voiced Madellaine in Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame II".

Jessica Simpson sang "Part of Your World" on the special edition "Little Mermaid" soundtrack and did a cover of "A Whole New World", with her then-husband Nick Lachey for the album "DisneyMania3".
