1. This epic movie told the story of organised crime in 1940's New York. The aging head of the family refused to keep up with the times and get his family involved with selling drugs. This didn't go down well with some of the other families. There was a contract taken out on him and he was shot down in the street. The Capo Regimes had all banded together and were awaiting their orders. The youngest son of the family, eventually assassinated the people involved and had to go into exile, until the furore cooled down.
2. This film was set in the frontier colony of New York in 1757. There was a brutal war going on between the French and the English. Both sides were being aided by Indian allies. The Hurons were on the side of the French and the Mohawks were on the side of the English. Cora and Alice Munro were travelling to their father's Fort. They were being escorted by a platoon of soldiers and an Indian guide, who they thought was a Mohawk. The Indian guide turned out to be a Huron and a brutal skirmish followed.
3. This film was set during the end of the American Civil War. There were bands of Union soldiers, out to burn down any Confederate homesteads they could. The guy was out plowing his fields, with the help of his small son. His wife called on the boy to come in to get washed and from nowhere a band of soldiers appeared. The guy saw the flames as his house was torched. When he got back to the homestead, his son was dead and his wife had been raped and beaten to death. This film was "The Beguiled".
4. This movie was set in the time of The French Revolution. There was a beast out in countryside, that was mutilating and killing everything in its path. Two riders appeared, as an old man and young woman are being beaten by a gang of men. One of the riders got off his horse and dispatched all of the men, using martial arts. When the riders reached their destination, they were told that they would be hunting a beast which had already devoured many people and they were sent out to kill it.
5. This movie was about a spaceship that was shipping a band of people who were looking for new horizons, and a dangerous convict to a new jail. Their spaceship crashed on to a planet with three suns. They discovered that they were not alone on the planet and that the last settlers had all been destroyed by the creatures who inhabited the planet. There was soon to be an eclipse and when the planet fell into darkness, the crew and their passengers would be in big trouble. This film is "The Chronicles of Riddick".
6. This film was about a group of girlfriends who were all thrill seekers and who were up for anything. They had already been on a white water rafting expedition and one of the girl's husbands had died, together with her daughter, in a freak accident. This time the girls decided to go cave climbing. The cave they picked had never been mapped as everyone who had tried, had been devoured by the "crawlers" that inhabited the cave.
7. This movie was about an ordinary guy who owned a diner. He had a wife and kids and lived a world away from the thugs who came into his place after money. The guy killed the thugs and it was then that his face was spread all over the media. The mobsters who then turned up, swore that the guy was a mobster himself. It was mistaken identity...or was it?
8. This film was about an unfortunate group of people who where in the wrong place at the wrong time. One of the guys was heading for an interview, when he came accross a road block. He turned back, went down a back road and got lost. Meanwhile, two young couples and a girl who had just broken up with her boyfriend, had set out on a road trip. They had pulled off the road as they were lost too. The guy crashed into their car and wrote it off. Four of them decided to walk out to find a telephone. The couple who stayed, were brutally murdered by an unknown enemy. When the others reached a house with smoke billowing out of the chimney, they hoped they would get help. Instead, they found fridges and jars full of body parts. They then heard the sounds of people coming back and they hid. The bodies of the two that had been slaughtered, were dragged in and the two remaining couples escaped.
9. This movie, was about a humble community of miners who were mining for gold in the river, to try and make their fortune. The ruthless owner of the large mining operation up river didn't like the fact that these people were in his way and he regularly sent riders to destroy their houses and anything else that was in their paths. Help evenutally came in the shape of a rider who appeared on a beautiful dapple grey horse. The stranger decided to stay and help the miners with their right to mine the river. There followed a violent struggle between good and evil.
10. This film is about the power of evil trying to rise through the power of good. The couple had been expecting their first child. The priest told the man that their baby had died, but that there was another woman who had died giving birth to her child and asked if he would take the child. The man agreed and decided not to tell his wife that their child had died. They raised the other child as their own, with dire consequences. This movie is "Audrey Rose".
