When automobile engineer, Jack Butler loses his job his wife, Caroline, sees it as the perfect opportunity for her to go back to work. So the two of them make a bet that whoever finds a job first, will work and the other will stay at home. Caroline is hired at an advertising agency and her and Jack's roles are reversed. Jack kisses Caroline goodbye as she heads off to work and he begins his day of cooking, cleaning, shopping and chauffeuring their three children. Caroline deals with her new success and a flirtatious boss while Jack stresses over his hectic new life, with the support of Caroline's friends.
