In 1893 London, Jack the Ripper steals a time machine from H. G. Wells and flees to 1979 San Francisco. He neglected to get the "return" key, so the machine returns to Wells, who realizes that he can't leave Jack in the future and goes to 1979 to hunt him down. A bank teller whom Wells meets when changing money is targeted as the Ripper's next victim.
