Everyone goes along with Jack's idea. It is because he proposes it at a town meeting and everyone misunderstands. They think it is supposed to be scary like Halloween. Jack knows that they don't understand but can't think of another way to get them all in on the plan. Then Jack starts assigning everyone jobs.

Lock, Shock, and Barrel are "Halloween's finest trick-or-treaters". Jack tells them to get Santa for him, so he'll be able to pretend to be Santa on Christmas Eve. Little does he know that Lock, Shock, and Barrel are involved in a scheme with Oogie Boogie.

But Jack goes anyway because his dog, Zero, has a glowing nose like Rudolph. Next, people in the real world start getting scared of Jack because he is a skeleton. Finally, he gets bombed out of the sky by the government because they are scared of him.

Jack ends up winning the battle at the end. He goes back to Halloween and saves Sally and Santa Claus from Oogie Boogie. Then Santa goes back to the world to set things right. Everyone celebrates Jack's return because they'd thought he died in the crash. Then Santa gives them snow and everyone is happy. The movie ends with Sally and Jack romantically kissing under the moon.
