quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 2004 "Eurotrip"- Not long before twins Jenny and Jamie are seen kissing passionately, we see the gang consume a glowing green beverage that causes that unfortunate event. What was that drink called?

Answer: Absinthe

Jenny (Michelle Trachtenberg) and Jamie (Travis Wester) were twins on a European trip. When high school pals Scott and Cooper join them, many hi-jinx ensue. One of these is an unfortunate make out session between brother and sister after drinking the hallucination inducing drink Absinthe.
2. 1998 "The Wedding Singer"- In the scene after she kisses Robbie for practice, Julia's fiancé Glenn brings her a brand new piece of electronic equipment. What was it?

Answer: CD player

Julia is so flustered from kissing Robbie that she asks Glenn if he wants to listen to a record. He explains to her that it doesn't player records, it plays CDs, because it is a CD PLAYER. It is an amusing scene because Glenn seems to be clueless about women, too clueless to know she isn't a simpleton, just flustered over Robbie.
3. 2004 "Secret Window"- Johnny Depp plays a writer in an emotional crisis. A mystery man comes to his door claiming Depp's character stole his story. Though Depp's Mort denies smoking, he still does at times. Is his brand of cigarettes Pall Mall?

Answer: No

Pall Mall was the cigarette of choice for the mystery man, Shooter. We learn later in the movie that Shooter is really Mort Rainey's alter ego. The story reminds me a lot of the Narrator and Tyler Durden in the 1999 movie "Fight Club". They were also two personalities within the same mind and body.
4. 1989 "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"- A history report must be done well and on time, or the fate of world happiness is at stake. A time traveler named Rufus hands Bill and Ted the reigns on an adventure to save their futures. According to Bill, were there "strange things afoot at the 7-Eleven"?

Answer: No

No, according to Ted strange things were afoot at the Circle K! Comedian George Carlin played the savior Rufus. "Lost Boys" alum Alex Winter played Bill and future "Matrix" super star Keanu Reeves played Ted. Rufus: "Hi, and welcome to the future. San Dimas, California 2688. And I'm telling you everything is great.

The air is clean. The water is clean. Even the dirt... is clean. Bowling averages are way up. Mini Golf scores are way down. And we have more waterslides than any other planet we communicate with. I'm telling you it's great.

But it almost wasn't. You see, 700 years ago the two great ones ran into a few problems. So now I must travel back in time to help them out. If I should fail to keep these two on the correct path, basis of our society will be in danger. Don't worry.

It'll make sense. I'm a professional."
5. 1991 "Out For Justice"- Steven Seagal plays a police detective named Gino. In the "neighborhood" a local hood is on the loose, doped up and killing people at random. Seagal's character Gino scours the town for Richie and any information as to why he killed one person in particular. Gino: "Has anybody seen Richie? Anybody know why Richie did (killed) ________?"

Answer: Bobby Lupo

Gino single handedly takes about an entire bar of men. He beats a few of them with a pool ball, no less! When no one wants to tell him where the fugitive Richie is, he departs with the following message:
"Anybody seen Richie? I'm gonna keep comin' back until someone remembers seein' Richie."
Joe Spataro plays the barely seen Bobby Lupo and William Forsythe plays the crazed drug addict Richie Madano. Future "The Sopranos" star Dominic Chianese (Junior Soprano) played Richie's father in the movie. Silvio and Artie are also characters from "The Sopranos".
6. 1990 "3 Men And A Little Lady"- When Mary's grandmother, Vera, offers to sing her to sleep with a lullaby, what does Mary request instead?

Answer: A rap song

Jack, Peter, and Mike happily oblige Mary, creating a very unique rap about Mary herself. Robin Weisman played the precocious Mary Bennington. In the first movie, "3 Men And A Baby", Lisa and Michelle Blair portrayed baby Mary.
7. 2003 "S.W.A.T."- In the first part of the movie we see a famous little person playing herself. She was reporting on the streets of Los Angeles. Who is this famous lady?

Answer: Bridget Powers

Bridget calls herself 'Bridget the Midget' (as she also did in this scene). She is 3' 7" to 3' 10" (reports vary here) tall and is a porn star. Needless to say, I feel no need to list out any of her other movies.
8. 2003 "Stuck on You"- What is the name of the hit TV series Walt has with Cher?

Answer: Honey and the Beaze

Matt Damon (Bob) and Greg Kinnear (Walt) are the wildly inaccurate conjoined twins in this movie. Conjoined twins have to be identical, as they are an incomplete split of a single fertilized egg. In the movie Cher plays Honey to Walt's Beasley character. The twins share a liver and are eventually successfully separated.
9. 1989 "Look Who's Talking"- Molly tries dating several men after Mikey is born. On one of these dates, Molly is forced to listen to the man talk about passing a stone. Which of these internal organs was the man glad he "got to see on tv"?

Answer: Colon

This is the movie that seemingly brought the career of John Travolta back full steam. He gained momentum steadily and went on to two sequels to this movie and then had the huge boost with 1994's "Pulp Fiction".
10. 1980 "The Watcher in the Woods"- What is the name of the puppy that Ellie Curtis gets early on in the movie? Hint: spell it backward and you get a woman's name.

Answer: Nerak

Ellie sees the name 'Karen' written on a window, only she sees it backward and decides to call her new puppy Nerak. Bette Davis plays the ever hopeful mother of the missing Karen Aylwood. The movie is about an exchange of spirits, many years ago, of Karen and an unknown presence.

When the Curtis family rents a home from Mrs. Aylwood, the youngest daughter Ellie becomes an unwitting conduit for the spirit. Her older sister Jan, with help from a local boy (closer to the mystery than he knows), slowly discover all the pieces of what happened to Karen. Jan uses her own body in a reenactment ceremony and they are able to switch the spirit with Karen, once again, on the solar eclipse.
