Lee Woo Jin claims that he bribed Dr Hopkins to create the remote, in order to allow him to kill himself at any time. When Oh Dae Su threatens to torture him, he tells Oh Dae Su that he will kill himself before he can lay a finger on him, thereby removing any possibility of Oh Dae Su discovering the truth.

Answer: It is wearing a ring.

While Oh Dae Su is having the aforementioned meeting with Lee Woo Jin and Mr Han, Mr Park and his employees break into Mido's apartment and abuse her. When Oh Dae Su returns to discover what they have done, he threatens to cut off Mr Park's hand, as he had touched Mido with it. The discovery of Mr Park's hand in their hotel room leads Oh Dae Su to realise that he has been bugged, and Lee Woo Jin can hear everything he says.

Answer: Evergreen

Using the phrase Oh Dae Su hears during his research, and after wading through some unrelated sites, they eventually discover the website of Oh Dae Su and Joo Hwan's old school. Unknown to them at the time, Lee Woo Jin and Lee Soo Ah were also students at the school.

Oh Dae Su looks through the yearbook for his class and recognises a picture of Lee Woo Jin. Joo Hwan informs him that Lee Woo Jin eventually moved to America and that he came from an extremely rich family. Oh Dae Su also learns of the death of Lee So Ah. Inside the yearbook, wrapped in Lee Woo Jin's distinctively patterned paper, is a leaflet advertising a salon run by another former classmate, providing Oh Dae Su with his next clue.

Choon Shim appears to remember more about why Oh Dae Su may have a connection to Lee Soo Ah than anyone else up until this point. She comments to her friend, when asked if Lee Soo Ah had a boyfriend, that Oh Dae Su should know the details. During the flashback, Joo Hwan tells Oh Dae Su that he is going on a date with Choon Shim immediately after Oh Dae Su tells him the gossip which leads to Lee Soo Ah's death.

Answer: Falsely blaming Oh Dae Su for starting the rumours

Oh Dae Su accepts responsibility for his part in the situation, and readily admits that he started the rumour. His accusation that Lee Woo Jin had slept with Lee Soo Ah was true, but the other accusations were false. Knowing that Lee Woo Jin had used hypnosis to manipulate him, Oh Dae Su assumed that he had been made to forget the incident, when in actual fact he had just forgotten it as he hadn't considered in important.

He accuses Lee Woo Jin of killing his sister after realising that he was there with her the day she jumped from the dam.

In truth, Lee Woo Jin had tried to stop her from killing herself.

Answer: A new prison building

Now that the secret of the old prison's location had been revealed, Mr Park needed to start afresh in a new building, where nobody could find him. Lee Woo Jin is extremely wealthy, and agrees to give Mr Park the new location for his business.

Answer: Scissors

In this highly unpleasant scene, Oh Dae Su uses a pair of scissors to cut out his tongue, in a gesture of apology to Lee Woo Jin and in order to convince him not to reveal the terrible truth to Mido. The gesture is symbolic of the fact that his "loose tongue" had caused such terrible tragedy to Lee Woo Jin's family.

Answer: Shoots himself

After remembering the final moments of his sister's life, Lee Woo Jin makes good on his promise to Oh Dae Su, and kills himself by shooting himself in the head. The remote control is revealed not to be for his pacemaker at all, but for a sound system which plays a recording of Oh Dae Su and Mido's sexual encounter, to further torture Oh Dae Su.

Answer: A concrete column

Oh Dae Su is asked to let the tree become one of the columns in Lee Woo Jin's apartment. He is then told that he will see his reflection in the window, at which point his personality will split into two people; Oh Dae Su, who no longer knows his secret, and a monster, who does remember.

The two images will then turn and walk away from each other, and after a number of steps the monster will die, taking the secret with him.
