As the movie opens, we see a bunch of men and women at a bar dancing and drinking. The song "Boys" by Charli XCX is playing and as the camera turns away from the dance floor we hear three young men talking, two of whom are speaking pretty rudely about a young woman who is sitting by herself and is obviously very drunk.

They debate who is going to take advantage of her as the "nice one" offers to go see how she's doing. He asks her if she's okay, offers to find her lost phone and offers to share a ride with her to get her home safe.

Cassie is taken back to Jerry's apartment where he pours her a very large drink even though she is clearly already really drunk. He attempts to kiss her and then take advantage of her, while she is drunkenly asking what he is doing. To the surprise of Jerry and the audience, she sits straight up and in a stone cold sober voice asks him what he is doing.

In the next scene, we see her walking home in the morning with what looks like blood on her arm. She gets home and writes his name in a notebook that has pages and pages and pages of men's names in it. We have no idea what she has done with Jerry but we suspect it isn't good!

We learn that Cassie is a 30 year old woman who still lives at home with her parents and it is obvious that her parents are disappointed in her. She works at a coffee shop after dropping out of medical school, despite apparently doing quite well while she was there.

In one funny scene, her parents buy her a birthday gift that is a pretty big hint that they would like her to leave their home.

While working at the coffee shop, Cassie sees a former fellow student named Ryan who is now a pediatric surgeon. He is surprised to see that she is working there and decides to tactlessly ask her why she is working at a coffee shop when she had so much potential.

He then tries to apologize but ends up making the situation more awkward so he just invites her to spit in his coffee, which she actually does. I won't spoil if he drinks the coffee or not.

We learn that Cassie's best friend, Nina Fisher, was raped by a former fellow student named Al Monroe while they were at a party while at medical school. This is what caused Cassie to leave. We don't know until later what became of Nina but we do know that this horrible event was life altering for both Nina and Cassie. One of the former fellow students who knew about the rape but did nothing was a woman named Madison. Cassie pretends to amicably catch up with Madison over lunch at a hotel restaurant and gets her so drunk that she is close to passing out. Cassie pays a guy to take Madison up to a hotel room and in the next scene, Madison is frantically trying to get in touch with Cassie to find out what happened.

Cassie goes back to her former medical school to ask the Dean if she remembered what had transpired, whether she remembered Nina Fisher, and why she did nothing to help her after the rape. In this scene, we hear the Dean defend her actions, defend the male student who raped Nina and blame Nina for putting herself in an unsafe situation by getting drunk.

The scene is a powerful portrayal of the kinds of things that are said about women who are raped after they have been drinking. Cassie tells Dean Walker that she has tricked her teenage daughter Amber into going into a room where there is drinking and young men, just like the young men who were there when Nina was raped.

This scene is incredibly tense as the Dean has a startling revelation about what could happen to her daughter.

Jordan Green is the lawyer who defended Al Monroe after he was accused of rape by Nina. When Cassie goes to see him, we find him on sabbatical because he had a breakdown after the stress of realizing the type of people he was defending. He admitted to Cassie how his law firm had a team of people combing through social media pages of young women looking for anything that would discredit them and cast doubt on their stories.

He is very apologetic and Cassie forgives him.

The social media platform is Frender.com. It is a Facebook-like app that Cassie signs up to, to see what her former fellow students are doing and how she can find them. We see her searching through the platform on her laptop and adding new names and lists to her notebook.

It is through Frender that she sees the details of how Madison's life has been going and how well Al Monroe is doing. She learns the date of Al's upcoming bachelor party.

Al Monroe has moved on with his life in spectacular fashion, becoming a doctor and getting engaged to the girl of his dreams. This makes Cassie so sad because of what happened to her friend Nina and she plots the ultimate act of revenge against Al at his bachelor party.

She shows up in a provocative nurse costume, complete with a wig and plenty of alcohol and pretends to be a stripper. Al does not recognize her and she gives her special spiked alcohol to all the party goers except for Al. The attendees all pass out and she is left to confront Al about what happened.

Cassie is one smart woman who knows what evil some men can do. She has a backup plan in case her bachelor party scheme goes wrong and she sends a message with specific instructions and a phone with video evidence of Nina's rape to Jordan Green. To use the very lawyer who helped Al Monroe get away with rape to finally exact a reckoning against him is poetic justice.
