Franka Potente played the part of Lola. She was also in "It's a Jungle Out Here", for which she won the 1996 Bavarian Film Prize for Young Talent. In 1998 she was voted one of the German Shooting Stars award from the European Film Promotion.

Did you notice he is also the man who speaks the opening lines and kicks the soccer ball?

The man in the ambulance was Herr Schuster, the bank security guard. Very few people make the connection. Another connection with Lola and Schuster is that she manages to bring his heartrate to normal! He is also the man who speaks the opening lines and kicks the soccer ball.

All of the running scenes, as well as several other scenes were shot all throughout Berlin. Other locations used were Albrechtstraße, Bebelplatz and Lolas Wohnung. Wuppertal was where director Tom Tykwer was born.
