This quote is not actually said in the film. It appears at the beginning as inspiration for the movie. I believe that this quote is important to the movie, because all throughout the movie, music plays a huge part of Terri's life, as well as in all the lives of her family and friends.

Here is some information about the man himself. Beethoven (1770-1827) wasn't always deaf; it wasn't until 1814 that he became completely deaf. It is said that he actually cut the legs off of his piano so that, as he pounded the notes he could put his ear to the ground and feel the vibrations and the notes that he wanted for his work.

At the Performing Arts Academy they offer all the students the chance to win a $10,000.00 scholorship. To win this scholorship they each perform and it is judged but the teachers of the academy. Everyone is really happy that Denise wins.
