Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is the guy who sold Terri the tickets to go to the "Three Days Grace" concert?

Answer: Matthew

This occurs in the beginning of the movie, straight after choir practice. Terri and her friend run into him in the hall. She gets the tickets for her brother, seeing as he is graduating and it is his favourite group.
2. What was the name of Terri's choir teacher, who gave Terri the recommendation to a Los Angeles performing arts academy?

Answer: Mr. Hulcome

This was just after choir practice was finished, as they were leaving. Terri said, "Thank you Mr. Hulcome", when he informed her that he sent in his recommendation to the Bristol-Hillman Music Conservatory, as she asked.
3. Which actor plays the role of Mr. Torvald?

Answer: John Corbett

Mr. Torvald is the teacher at the Bristol-Hillman Music Conservatory who shows Terri the DVD that her brother sent in. He is also the teacher who looks like a hippie with long hair. John Corbett also plays Ian Miller in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", and Pastor Dan in "Raising Helen".
4. "Music is ... a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy." Which famous person said this quote?

Answer: Beethoven

This quote is not actually said in the film. It appears at the beginning as inspiration for the movie. I believe that this quote is important to the movie, because all throughout the movie, music plays a huge part of Terri's life, as well as in all the lives of her family and friends.

Here is some information about the man himself. Beethoven (1770-1827) wasn't always deaf; it wasn't until 1814 that he became completely deaf. It is said that he actually cut the legs off of his piano so that, as he pounded the notes he could put his ear to the ground and feel the vibrations and the notes that he wanted for his work.
5. After Paul dies, does Terri re-live the blinding light of the accident?

Answer: yes

Yes, the first time is when the doctor shines the lights in her eyes to check them, another time is when she gets ready to sing at a club, and then she runs off stage.
6. What two movie posters hang on the wall over Paul's bed?

Answer: "Lord of the Rings" & "Final Destination"

You see these when Terri gives Paul the concert tickets. You see them again when Terri's dad is looking into Paul's room, and then again when Terri and her mother are sitting on the bed talking about her going to Los Angeles.
7. When they are singing in the car on the way home, what are the last words said/sung before the accident?

Answer: Paul look out

Just before the accident Terri and Paul are singing a song from the "Three Days Grace" concert. They are really enjoying themselves and then the dreaded accident happens. If you listen to them as they sing just as they finish singing one of the songs line, you hear Terri say, "Paul look out!".
8. What is the password that Jay asks for?

Answer: Monkeys

When Terri arrives at the Performing Arts Academy, that she will be attending for the month of August, Jay is the first person she meets. When she knocks on the door, she is tired and all she wants is to get up to her room. Jay answers the door and asks for the password. After Terri introduces herself he tells her the password and lets her in. The password was his way of joking.
9. What is Kiwi's real name?

Answer: Engelbert

You find this out just as he are about to go on stage for his final performance. When his friends hear about this they all laugh and he just shrugs them off.
10. Who won the scholarship?

Answer: Denise

Denise and Terri don't hit it off to start of with, but as the movie progresses, so does their friendship. Denise is Terri's room mate and she plays the violin. Denise is an excellent violin player. At the Performing Arts Academy they offer all the students the chance to win a $10,000.00 scholorship. To win this scholorship they each perform and it is judged but the teachers of the academy. Everyone is really happy that Denise wins.
