"Robocop": Part I Trivia Quiz

Answer: Metro south

After hearing about his transfer location, Sergeant Reed mentioned that Metro south was a nice precinct. Reed quickly broke the pleasantries, however, by saying that in their precinct they get work done. He told Murphy to get to his locker and suit up.

When he got to his locker, the other officers called the precinct "Hell". A few minutes later, Sergeant Reed arrived to take a name tag reading Frederickson off of a locker. The implication was that the officer was killed. Reed said that the funeral would be tomorrow and that donations to the family would be accepted.

Answer: Anne Lewis

After witnessing the interesting martial arts Anne used to take down the crook, he commented on her skill. She said she was glad to have met Murphy. After being declared partners, she and Murphy went to the garage. Anne said she should drive until Murphy knew his way around. Murphy, however, decided that he should be the one who drives.

Answer: It malfunctioned and shot an unarmed employee.

To demonstrate the machine, an executive named Mr. Kinney was told to hold a weapon in a threatening manner. He pointed the weapon at the machine and it told him to drop his weapon, and he had twenty seconds to comply. Mr. Kinney dropped the weapon. After dropping the pistol, the machine should have stopped its warnings for compliance.

It continued to warn Mr. Kinney until it finally announced that it was authorized to use violent force. The machine unloaded dozens of high caliber rounds into Mr. Kinney, killing him in a most brutal fashion.

After it killed him, it shut itself off. Disappointed by Dick Jones' failed machine, Bob Morton told the CEO about his "Robocop" project. The CEO was interested and wanted a presentation in twenty minutes.

Answer: role models

Murphy learned the trick exclusively for his son, making him his son's role model. After his warm conversation with Officer Lewis, she and Murphy answered a dispatch to follow the film's antagonist, Clarence Boddicker. The mood quickly shifted from a bright and cheery one to dark and despondent one.

Answer: Clarence's men blew Murphy up with a grenade.

After learning that back-up was unavailable, Murphy told Anne that it was her call as to what they should do. She decided that they should go in and stop the criminals themselves. The two separated from one another. Anne was knocked out by one of Clarence's men while Murphy ventured into a room with two men.

When he first arrived in the room, Murphy was optimistic that he had finally arrested a prolific police murderer and his accomplices. He killed one and stopped another one by saying, "Dead or alive, you're coming with me". Soon after that, the rest of the criminals arrived and disarmed Alex Murphy. Clarence shot Murphy's right hand off after Murphy called him scum.

After he shot him, Clarence allowed him to stand up. Clarence's men shot dozens of shotgun bursts right into Murphy. Because of his body armor, however, the bullets didn't kill him.

After his men ran out of ammo, Clarence told them that fun was over. Clarence pulled out his pistol and shot Murphy right in the head, killing him instantly.

Answer: Subdue the uncooperative

His prime directives were used as his keys to help him fight crime. As long as what he did fit within the four prime directives, he was authorized to do it. The fourth prime directive was a contribution by Dick Jones himself as insurance that he wouldn't be arrested. Essentially, what the fourth directive stated was that the Robocop would never be able to attack or arrest a member of OCP.

Answer: He did the "T.J. Lazer" gun spinning trick.

Anne Lewis saw Robocop's shooting and had a quick association to Murphy when he did the spinning gun trick. Later, Robocop had a dream and started to leave. Lewis caught up to him in the hallway and told him that he was Murphy.

Answer: A drug deal

The first crime he stopped was the robbery of a grocery store. A maniacal man tried to rob a safe when the Robocop arrived. The man unloaded several shots into Robocop, doing no damage. He then tried to run when Robocop bent his weapon, but Robocop spun and punched him, sending him right through the freezer.

The next crime he stopped was an attempted rape. He arrived before the two men could do anything to the woman. One of the men tried to take her hostage, but Robocop used his precise aiming to shoot through her skirt and into the man's "lower" body.

The other criminal quickly surrendered when he saw the aftermath. The final crime Robocop stopped that day was a delicate hostage situation in a government building. A crazed man took the mayor and several other people hostage. No matter how the situation panned out, he wanted his old job back, fresh coffee, a bigger office, a recount of hostages, and a car with reclining leather seats and poor gas mileage.

When he was offered the 6000 SUX, he threatened to kill the mayor. Robocop punched through the wall, grabbed the crazed man, and threw him out the window.

Answer: An argument with his grandmother

When he entered the house, he was greeted by an electronic realtor. He ignored it and walked through the house. His first flashback occurred in what was once his living room. There he remembered a time when his son was watching the cop show "T.J. Lazer" and asked him if he could do T.J.'s spinning gun trick. Robocop continued to move through the house, passing by a symbolically broken coffee mug that read "World's Greatest Husband".

His walk eventually led him to his old kitchen, where he saw an old Halloween photo that was taken with him and the rest of his family.

He continued his walk until he reached the bedroom. There he had a memory of his wife telling him that she loved him. After that, he could take no more. He was caught in a roller-coaster of overwhelming emotion.

He punched the electronic realtor and stormed out of the house, aware of his predicament.

Answer: He was blown up in an explosion.

Bob Morton was in the washroom of the OCP building when he infuriated Dick Jones by calling him a bad name. Dick Jones told him that he crossed the line and that he'd pay for it. Bob did not believe him. Later that evening, Bob Morton took two models over to his house for a party. There was alcohol and illegal narcotics, which they used and abused. During their party, there was a knock on the door. Bob thought it was the champagne, but it turned out to be Clarence. Clarence told the women to leave before he shot Morton twice in each leg. Bob was scared, so he offered Clarence twice what Dick Jones was paying. Clarence pulled the pin on an explosive device and left Bob's home. Immediately before the device exploded, the recording of Dick Jones cleverly said that every game had a winner and a loser. Boom!
