Anakin (Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan Kanobi (Ewan McGregor) join the forces of the Republic in an effort to free Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid). Anakin is in two minds about how to tell everyone he is secretly married to Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), and Palpatine feeds his uncertainty by sowing seeds of doubt about the Jedis.

This leads to treachery; he's in fact working for both sides and things go badly wrong.

Full of screen legends, this John Ford movie tells the story of lawyer Ransom Stoddard (played by James Stewart), who heads west to make a new life for himself. Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin) is a serious thug, and he beats Stoddard to a pulp. Stoddard is rescued by Tom Doniphon (John Wayne). Stoddard hangs up his shingle in the town centre and in doing so, sets up a showdown with Liberty Valance.

The movie received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design (black-and-white), by Edith Head.

Dr. David Callaway (Robert De Niro) plays an unstable psychologist in this disturbing film. His wife commits suicide and that starts a chain of unpleasant events, attributed to "Charlie". His daughter Emily (Dakota Fanning) is drawn into the incidents and the ending suggests that she herself may also begin to emulate the instability exhibited by her father.

An aging singer, who drinks too much and whose career is in a savage downward spin tries to help a young singer find her way to stardom. This romantic drama was co-written by Bradley Cooper who also makes his directorial debut with the film. Highly praised by critics, it featured prominently at the Academy Awards, receiving nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor for Bradley Cooper and Best Actress for Lady Gaga.

Rebecca Ferguson (Katya) stars with Charles Dance (old Alexander, Sasha) in this beautifully filmed movie, set in the 1950s amidst the Cold War. Spy Katya is required to steal information from a naïve and idealistic politician (Sam Reid as young Alexander, aka Sasha), but falling in love with him was not part of the plan. Just how much she loved him is revealed 30 years later.

The movie is based on the Marvel Comics' character Bruce Banner who, struck by gamma rays, turns into an indestructible large green fighting monster. This film featured Edward Norton in the role of Banner, but his stay would be short-lived as the Hulk.

He would be replaced in "The Avengers" series of movies that followed by Mark Ruffalo. In this film General Ross is reviving a World War II experiment to create a super-soldier, however, during the test, gamma rays strike Banner. Nothing happens until Banner's heart rate exceeds 200 beats per minute, at which point he evolves into the creature, destroys the lab, kills some people in the building and is cast out as a fugitive.

Based on a true story, Thomas Hacklin (James Caan) finds that his estranged wife and children have disappeared. It transpires that his ex has a new boyfriend, who has a shady past. The boyfriend now wants to testify against his buddies, and they get placed into witness protection. Hacklin now wants to sue the government for keeping his children away from him.

Directed by Jeremy Sims, this Australian film is set in 1916, during World War I, and it centres around the First Australian Tunnelling Company, who are working their way beneath a German fortification in the hope of setting off an enormous explosive charge beneath it. The film was nominated for ten awards at the Australian Film Industry Awards that year.

Rebecca De Mornay is chillingly scary in this horror story, which sees her lose her unborn child after her husband is humiliated and kills himself. She then plots revenge by trying to steal the family of a naïve young woman, played by Annabella Sciorra.

Sidney Poitier is Virgil Tibbs, an African American detective, who is called upon to investigate a murder in a racially hostile southern US town. Rod Steiger is brilliantly cast as the local police chief who is more of a hindrance than a help and does not disguise his disdain for Tibbs. The film would win five Oscars including one for Steiger's epic performance and one for Best Picture.
