When Shirley initially tells Joe that she wants to go to Greece, he thinks that she means they will go together. He says he doesn't want to go to Greece, so she goes without him. He comes home to an empty house and no dinner on the table. Needless to say he is not happy.

Millandra comes home, declaring Sharron-Louise a 'mare'. She then asks Shirley to make her cocoa and toast like she used to, and just generally treats Shirley like a skivvy, leaving her bags outside for Shirley to bring in and asking her to bring the television up from downstairs.
"What am I doing Wall? She's only been home for five minutes and already she's got me strutting around like R-2-bleedin'-D-2!"

Shirley knows that Joe will be angry that he is not getting his Thursday steak because she gave it to Gillian's dog.
"Thou shalt give thy fella steak every Thursday. And if thou doesn't, thy fella will have one big gob on him, all night long."

She says this when Gillian spots her in a lingerie shop buying racy underwear.
Gillian: "They'd be nice on your Millandra."
Shirley: "Oh, I'm not buying these for Millandra, I'm buying these for myself. But I shall not be wearing them for myself I shall be wearing them for my lover. We're going to Greece you see."
Gillian is even more shocked when Shirley asks what counter the suspender belts are on.
