quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to Sarah, on what date would 3 billion people lose their lives (Note that I have laid out dates in European way: DD.MM.YYYY)?

Answer: 29.08.1997

August 29th, 1997 is the date upon which the nuclear fire will hit the USA. August 4th, 1997 is the date when the 'Skynet' system goes on-line. February 28th, 1985 is John Connor's date of birth, and I made the August 29th, 2029 date up, although the Future War scenes are based on the year 2029 in this film, the same year that the Terminator and the T-1000 are sent back through time.
2. Arnie's 'Terminator' arrives in the present first and enters a bar called The Corral. Whilst he is electronically scanning the crowd, we see alphanumeric readouts scroll across his field of vision. Can you tell me the 'Scan Mode' that the Terminator uses to assess the people in the bar?

Answer: 43894

This number scrolls up on the screen each time he assesses an individual in The Corral. He is attempting to identify someone with the same size clothing so that he can 'borrow' them for the rest of the film. Luckily the Hell's Angels were in -- I dread to think what he would have worn had he arrived on a Ladies' Night!
3. When the T-1000 arrives, he assumes the identity of a police officer and searches the Juvenile Automated Index to find John Connor. What is John Connor's Arrest Record code?

Answer: J 66455705

The T-1000 scrolls through these screens in the police car shortly after he arrives in the present.
4. When Dr Silberman is talking his interns to see the patients at the Pescadero State Hospital, he tells us Sarah's age. How old is she, in years?

Answer: 29

5. What is the PIN number of the stolen ATM card that John uses to withdraw money to go to the Amusement Arcade at the Galleria?

Answer: 9003

6. At the end of the canal chase scene, the truck the T-1000 drives crashes into a barrier. We see two fire trucks on the scene extinguishing this fire. What is the number that we are shown on the back of one of the fire engines?

Answer: 151

7. How many bones does Sarah tell Dr Silberman there are in the human body?

Answer: 215

This happens when Sarah attempts to escape the hospital and takes Dr. Silberman hostage to assist this process. She hits his hand with a baton and he yells: 'You broke my arm!'. Sarah replies: 'There are 215 bones in the human body. That's one. Now don't move!' There are actually 206 bones in the human body. If you are watching the DVD version, you will see that a chapter is even called: '215 bones'!
8. When Sarah, John and the Terminator leave the abandoned gas station where they have hidden out overnight, they 'borrow' an old car. Can you tell me this car's registration plate number?

Answer: 1GXX809

9. When the Terminator explains to Sarah the history (or future developments) of Skynet's domination of the world in the future, at what time does he say that Skynet becomes self-aware on 29 August 1997?

Answer: 2:14 AM

The Terminator explains how Skynet gets built. TERMINATOR: 'The man most directly responsible is Miles Bennett Dyson. He is the director of special projects at Cyberdyne Systems Corporation... In a few months he develops a revolutionary type of microprocessor...In three years Cyberdyne will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All Stealth Bombers are upgraded with Cyberdyne computers becoming fully unmanned.

Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Skynet Funding Bill is passed.

The system goes online on August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 AM Eastern Standard Time, August 29th. In a panic they try to pull the plug.' SARAH: 'Skynet' fights back.' TERMINATOR: 'Yes.

It launches its missiles against the targets in Russia.' JOHN: 'Why attack Russia? Aren't they our friends now?' TERMINATOR: 'Because Skynet knows that the Russian counterattack will eliminate its enemies over here.'
10. Which one of these magazines is not shown on a table in the Dyson home when Sarah attacks Miles?

Answer: Woman's Realm

Did you notice that when they keep cutting back to Miles resting on the table (whilst Sarah wrestles with her conscience to shoot him), the magazines keep changing their position on the table? 'Woman's Realm' is a magazine that used to grace doctors' waiting rooms all over Britain. I think it is out of publication now, but apparently it was very handy for women at the time. I don't know how women manage without it now!
11. True or False: Two separate numbers are given in the film for the address of the 'Cyberdyne' building located on Kramer Street (the one that Sarah, John, the Terminator and Miles Dyson blow up)?

Answer: True

The numbers 2144 and 2111 are given as the addresses. The numbers are given during radio transmissions between police officers on two separate occasions. I think that 2144 was the intended number of the address, as Jim Cameron quotes only this number in his original scripts for the film.
12. What is the pin number of the room in the 'Cyberdyne' building that contains the original Terminator's (the one from the first film) arm and CPU (referred to as 'the Chip')?

Answer: 7256

This number comes up on John's palm-top computer as he tries to crack the code.
13. Can you recall the serial code on the side door of the police helicopter that is despatched to the 'Cyberdyne' location?

Answer: N830RC

You see the code as the helicopter sweeps past the 'Cyberdyne' building windows. This is in the scene where the Terminator shoots the police cars from the building with a mini gun. Apparently he was the only person on set who could hold it for any length of time, being muscly and all!
14. The serial code on the side of the 'Cryoco' truck door reads 'TMR 673444'.

Answer: False

The code on the side of the truck is actually 'DOT 117333'. You see it in the scene when the T1000 'acquires' this truck just after the helicopter crashes.
15. How many Terminators (or parts thereof) are destroyed by the end of the film?

Answer: 3

Three are destroyed: the parts of the original Terminator from the first film, the Terminator in this film (both T800s) and the T1000 (the mimetic polyalloy model).
