Answer: Harlan Pepper

Harlan Pepper owns a fishing tackle store, when he is not going to dog shows. Christopher Guest is a US born actor who is best known for his "mocumentaries" which poke fun at various topics. Christopher Guest married Jamie Lee Curtis in 1984. He became the 5th Baron Haden-Guest, of Saling in the County of Essex, when his father died in 1996.
2. When Harlan Pepper used to name nuts, which nut name used to drive his mother crazy?

Answer: Macadamia nut

Harlan Pepper gives this monologue while he is driving from his home in Pine Nut, NC to the dog show in Philadelphia. "I used to be able to name every nut that there was, and it used to drive my mother crazy, because she used to say, "Harlan Pepper, if you don't stop naming nuts." I'd say, "Peanut, Hazelnut, Cashew nut, Macadamia nut," That was the one that would send her into going crazy."
He doesn't explain why that particular nut drove his mother crazy which made the segment even funnier.

During an interview, he asks, "Mayflower, combined with Philadelphia - a no-brainer, right? Cause this is where the Mayflower landed." Buck continues to show his ignorance by incorrectly identifying the Mayflower as one of the Columbus ships.

Meg and Hamilton Swan are the uptight couple in the movie. The scene where Meg Swan goes to the pet store to get another bumble bee toy for their Weimaraner is phenomenal. Her controlled anger is superb. The clerk also does a great job with his part. "The dog will respond to the stripes and it is reminiscent of a bumble bee".
5. What breed dog does Harlan Pepper show?

Answer: Bloodhound

The Bloodhound's name is Hubert and he is Harlan's best friend. Christopher Guest had to train with a dog handler to learn how to show the dog in the ring.

Leslie Ward Cabot is 50 years older than his wife, Sherri. Sherri lists these items in common to show what a great relationship they have. Leslie and Sherri own the Standard Poodle "Rhapsody in White". Sherri is actually having an affair with Rhapsody's handler, Christy Cummings. Leslie Ward Cabot does not speak any lines in the movie. Christopher Guest eliminated his lines when he thought the character was funnier by not saying anything.

He is actually wearing a left shoe on his right foot and it makes him look very comical. During the dog show, the announcer notices it and points out that he has two left feet.
As an aside: Christopher Guest played a six-fingered man in the movie "The Princess Bride".
