The Boys of "Miracle" Trivia Quiz

After the team won, Jim Craig, wrapped in a US flag, skated around to search the crowds for his father. Jim Craig's mother had just passed away before he made the Olympic team, and many said that his game was off because of it.

These three guys were named the coneheads because they were a little out there like the coneheads in the comedy sketch on "Saturday Night Live," according to assistant coach, Craig Patrick. Coach Herb Brooks told these three that they would be sticking together and would not be cut before the games started.

Ralph Cox played forward at UNH, and was the last player cut from the team. Ralph said he went to UNH when Brooks asked him who he was and who he played for. His response was, "I'm Ralph Cox, I play for UNH, and I'm from wherever's not gonna get me hit."

At a Christmas party at Doc's house, all the boys were exchanging gifts. As a joke, the boys got Silk some nice silky womens underwear.

Billy Schneider got to play his father in the movie. Billy heard about the auditions from his mother, and decided to try out for a small skating part. He went into auditions and they handed him a script, and he kept getting called back. When making the film, the director Gavin O'Connor would come up to Billy and ask him if his dad knew about certain situations that happened with the team. Billy would call up Buzz and hand O'Connor the phone.

Mark Johnson scored the second shot right before the period ended. Buzz had scored the first goal. To everyone's surprise, Tretiak was taken out of the game, something not seen in the Winter Games. The announcers could not even remember a time when this had happened before. Brooks then told his players that the best goalie in the world was on the bench.

After Herb brought in Tim, the players were upset. They confronted Herb after the game and told him that he shouldn't have brought him in so late, and that he wasn't part of their family. During the game, Brooks was favoring Tim, and Eruzione saw and was bothered by it.

O'Callahan hurt himself in the first match against the Soviet Union three days before the Games began. We didn't see the entire match, but we did see OC get into an altercation with members of the other team.

Rob's team, the University of Minnesota, won in 1976 against OC and his team, which caused the tension between the two players. We first found out McClanahan was part of the 1976 team when he was talking with Eruzione before tryouts. Later, OC told the story of what happened at the 1976 championship game.

I know this really wasn't about the boys, but I just love that song (sung by Blue Oyster Cult)! The boys were given the test to see how far Herb Brooks would be able to push them. The boys were sitting at the bar discussing some of the bizarre questions that Herb had on the test, as well as the old rivalry between guys from Boston and Minnesota.
