Jim tells Herb he doesn't understand what the quiz has to do with hockey. Herb tells him that its okay because he took it anyway. He has them take the quiz so he can make sure that he can push them extremely hard.

They thought it was crazy to bring in a new player at this time because they were a family. Herb realized that this was the team they wanted to go to the Lake Placid Olympics with, so he decided to send the new player home.
